oh, i did have an acceptable regs mocha latte at wawa today. so apparently the plain one is just hit or piss there.

earlier i promised a report on some possible jockeying at the top of one of my (extremely important and influential) lists and here it is. unlike some people around here, my "more to come" actually has a payoff.

TEN PACES AND TURN

you see, what had happen was i ended up in a walmart and they don't have fanta zero. i was stuck picking up diet orange crush. i was excited when i first tried it because it actually seemed pretty good (in the context of diet orange soda).

i decided to hold on to the last one until i could get some more fanta zero to give 'er the old pepsi challenge.

however, before i even got my hands on more fanta zero my enthusiasm for the diet orange crush began to wane. as i worked my way through the 12 pack, i started to notice a little sidecar taste that i was not fond of. it was kind of like expired tonic water. just a little bit, but still it was there and it was undeniable once it got on your nerves.

anyway, i still had to do the pepsi challenge because of my curiosity and because i promised it to you, my loyal readers.

the end result was pretty much what i had come to expect, but now i can sip them side by side and articulate better the characteristics of each beverage.

when i poured them i noticed that the crush fizz is a very artificial looking, bright orange compared to the fanta zero. i decided, without doing any research at all, that this is indicative of just how much more cancer causing artificial color is used in the crush. those bastards. once the fizz settles both sodas look pretty much the same. the crush may be a slight shade deeper orange but i don't have kickbro's glasses on (i refuse to admit that i need my own).

anyway, onto the part you've all been waiting for with bated breath for days. the fanta zero blows the diet orange crush away. as soon as it hits your lips you know it's 10x sweeter. like, it's not even to your tongue yet and you can tell just by your taste buds being around it. it's like an orange popsicle compared to the now weird tasting diet orange crush.

so while there was a moment of bubbling excitement, things have stayed status quo at the top of the diet soda leaderboard and fanta zero is still the best diet orange soda you can buy IMHO!!!
