Trucker Choking On Dr. Pepper Leads To 26 Flavors Of Damaged Cars



The Montrose new car dealership was open for business Monday despite major damage caused by an out of control semi-truck rig on Sunday.

An Indiana man has been cited for careless driving after his tanker truck plowed into the car dealership in Hermitage after a hair-raising, out of control jaunt along Route 18.

The driver, Thomas Young, 58, of Royal Center, Indiana, told investigators that he was driving a truck carrying milk on North Hermitage Road just before 4 p.m. Sunday when he began to choke on the Dr. Pepper he was drinking.

Young says he lost control of the tanker which swerved across the oncoming lanes of Route 18, jumped the curb in front of the Walmart, grazed utility pole and a tree.

The truck then traveled 550 feet across a piece of vacant property, across a Walmart traffic way, down and embankment, and then into several new vehicles on display at Montrose Buick-GMC-Cadillac on North Hermitage Road.

No one was injured, including the driver. But several new vehicles were damaged. One vehicle was pushed into the dealership, damaging the showroom.

"From our count right now we're up to 26, anywhere from totaled to having just a few scratches," Montrose spokesman Mark Richarderhoff said.

I'm trying to google the monster I had but can't find it. I bought it at a 7 Eleven in virginia. Came in a pink can. Kind of tasted like Hawaiian fruit punch with sprite
