Got a case each of these (Publix had a 3-for2 so my 3rd was Mango Pepsi ):

First, I just saw "Cream Soda" and just ignored the "Cola" part. I might not have got it had I noticed, but I'm glad I did. It's just OK on it's own (but not as good as regular cream soda or cola with vanilla), but mix bourbon into it and it is pretty damn good.

The cherry is what is I'll probably go back and buy again and again as long as they sell it. It really is that good. (Though tried it with bourbon too but it didn't hit the mark like the cream cola + bourbon.)

Probably should have looked into this for that Publix 3-for-2 sale I recently took advantage of. Maybe next time.

(frank) the garnish (since I'm not doing it to entertain guests). So instead I use Angostura Orange rather than the regular Angostura and add a few drops of maraschino cherry juice (save the cherries for the ice cream sundaes). Easy peasy 123sey.

Also, I have discovered that the Angostura Orange goes great with some beers, particularly American-style Lagers (my goto is PBR for this). Very refreshing especially since we've been unseasonably a bit hot here the past few days.

Kick is right. It's not that great... anymore.

It used to be better when it was made with cane sugar instead of corn syrup. Maybe they should make a retro cane sugar version like with Pepsi.

In general not a fan of lemon-lime drinks for mixers cause of the artificial flavors. Rather use just seltzer (or tonic water... maybe club soda) and use real lemon and/or lime juice instead. But it's really only in the case of the sprite/7-up/etc. Though I don't usually mix much soda with alcohol for cocktails except recently for the above bourboned cream soda cola. (I used to do gin & tonics with lime but not in decades. Maybe when I'm a geezer again.)

I hope your Princess(es) who live in Publix Country belong to Club Publix. When they come out with their weekly update I spend like at least an hour going through all the deals and clipping digital coupons... even if I wind-up actually not using many of them. It's oddly satisfying and nowhere near as frustrating in the old days when you had to clip paper coupons, and better for the environment too!

Also forgot that they're very competitor coupon friendly:
https://www.publix.com/fa...policy/competitor-coupons

So I might someday have to join the rewards & download apps to some of their nearby competitors like Winn Dixie even though I don't shop there (well maybe once or twice in the last decade or two). Some one told me they accept coupons from the nearby dollar stores (can't remember which chains). Also gotta suss how to do it without paper coupons... there should be a way to do it if there ain't.

Just remind him that it's not cream soda but a mix with cola.

I figured that but if I ever get type 2 like my dad I'm gonna swear of sodas too. I have yet to try a sugar free that doesn't (frank) up my buds for ages with the awful aftertaste. Dad still is able to occasionally manage his levels with the occasional sugar drink... Me I don't drink sodas every day. 36 cans (minus the few I already drank) should keep me stocked until March. And it's well documented here that my carbonated kryptonite is Izze... which unfortunately is impossible to find anymore stocked locally. I still get some on Amazon on occasion.

"Pubsubs" (Spelling varies, but my choice of separating punctuation in place of a space is none.)

My favorite:
https://www.publix.com/pd...tender-sub/BMO-DSB-100011

With pepper jack, lettuce, tomatoes. When I bring them home (most of the time these days) I use Duke's (adding mayo after the name is redundant here), dill relish (preferred to the pickle chips they have in the deli) and some scotch bonnet sauce for extra 856.

PS: If you're not going home, they'll put anything you want on them as long as it's for sale in the store and you buy the item with the sub. I've done that in a pinch.

Their fresh made Cubanos are also PDG but I wish they offered them with real Cuban bread instead of baguettes (don't let them try to make it with a regular sub roll) and if they female dog about pressing them because they're slammed, walk away (and let the manager know before you leave the store). Come to think about it, if they have Cuban Bread in the bakery, I may buy that so they can use that instead.

I haven't had that happen in maybe 20 years, 'cause the stores I go to are so much better staffed and operated than that particular one that had problems so many years ago. I think they were always slammed because it covered too large a densely populated area and they should have had more nearby stores built.
