Red Summer Edition - Juneberry

Today’s episode of #Streit2TheReview brings you the newest flavor to the Redbull seasonal editions. Juneberry derives from a shrub, native to the northern United States and apologetically grows in southern Canada. Known for its similarities with blueberries and my uncle, the juneberry bears seed that many find indigestible. Hence its popularity with juices and jams. But I digress to the juneberry found in this can of Redbull. At first sip, I get a wondrous familiarity to the nostalgic Blueberry Redbull, but it then emerges to a different taste one of sweetness and tartness as one would expect from a wilderness berry. The sweetness dissipates over the course of a few sips which I appreciated. Overall a solid flavor from Redbull, one I would get again but doesn’t quite have enough to be a top 3 flavor.

i have now taken a few sips from s2tp's mouth and i agree with all of this.

i have decided redbulls have the most energy drink taste so i just deal with that when i try one. so it has the energy drink taste, sure, but it also tastes like all of these things s2tp said.

the green edition. this is red bulls attempt at brussels sprout flavor.

when you crack open the can the aroma brings back memories of dinner cooking in the kitchen as i played with my gi joe toys in the living room.

the first taste that hits your lips is garlic, ensuring that red bull's mom knew how to prepare brussels sprouts correctly. as you let the beverage wash over your taste buds take a second or two to swish it around in your mouth to really reach every nook and cranny and fill it with vegetably deliciousness. there's a strong flavor of sodium and black pepper here, which is important, obviously.

i'd have to say they hit it out of the park with this one. you can almost taste the pork roast that the brussels sprouts would normally be surrounding as they soak in the juices and generally just roll around the outskirts of the dish just being their jolly green selves.

a solid 7.5 s2tps for the green edition.

you know what? these aren't that good.

i guess i get what they're going for but drinking this is not a good experience. it tastes like the paper that a strawberry hard candy was wrapped in. i think the apricot part just has to do with the color of the can maybe because i don't taste apricot. of course, after the way the strawberry part tasted, maybe they just don't know what things really taste like? the aftertaste is kind of gross. so they are doing pretty bad on tastes with this one.

this was a spectacular, flaming failure and what i have learned is that red bull is the most recognized name in energy drinks and the one that tastes the worst. monster is better than rockstar is better than red bull.

i mean, it's better than those others but if my lunchtime wawa wasn't completely wiped out of any of the good monsters, i'd rather have an ultra watermelon.

there's something nice like guava or papaya going on here. it's not that it's terrible, it's just not for me as much as the monsters and rockstars.
