you know that time of year i hate, where the birds start chirping and the trees start.. leafing.., and the flowers start blooming in peoples god damned yards? i guess right around easter this happens. cause it coincides with these (frank)ing hyacinths that show up in the garden out front and are associated with easter.

anyway this soda tastes just like i imagine those flowers taste. with a drop of white vinegar added.

there is literally not one redeeming quality about this beverage. i've reviewed worse drinks due to dietness or ginger being an ingredient or whatever but i have never reviewed a drink that was this surprisingly bad. you usually have an idea going in. i had no clue this time. i figured it's named after a very popular candy, how bad can it be?

guys guys, big news.

i wandered into royal farms for some got damn chicken and while i was waiting for them to kill and fry my food i, of course, perused their sexy beverage section (aka: the beverage sexion).

anyway, there are some new carrot infused drinks and believe it or not i can drink some of the V8 satanic root drinks so i looked them over. however, i waved them off on this day.

i picked up a chocolate milk for later (the milk door still moos) and moseyed on over to the energy drinks. secure in the knowledge that i have a monster rehab lemon iced tea in the fridge from this morning's 2 for $4 at wawa, i was certainly just browsing. gathering intel.

now when i walk into a royal farms i check for 2 things: are they still carrying my rockstar recovery orange? and do they carry my parliament silver pack yet?

no need to check on the cigarettes as i quit in 2 days and will never touch another cigarette except maybe in a parking lot in south philly with crims.

so that left me in a panic over by the refrigerator doors. NO ROCKSTAR RECOVERY ORANGE. did they stop ordering it? is it just empty right now? these are the questions that raced through my mind as i waited for the chubby girl at the counter to call #811.

but as all of this was going on, something caught my eye. something different. something unfamiliar.

now i pray to allah that my orange will be back, but here is the fruit punch recovery that we've never had anywhere in this market (which is an outrage because there are a ton of us blacks around here. it's like a jungle sometimes it makes me wonder how i keep from going under.)

now, it's no orange and it can't and won't ever take the place of orange but this poop is really really good. it just tastes like really good fruit punch like my people love. no real energy drink taste to speak of. maybe hawaiian punch is what i'm tasting.

6/21/18 was a banner day that changed the entire landscape of my beverage consuming little world as this drink has instantly bolted directly into my #2 energy drink position.
