come on, man. i'm drinking responsibly. i never get in my car afterward, i only really get off the rails a couple nights a week, and it's the best damn liquor for us in the world. it's the least calories and all that bit and juniper is good for all kinds of ailments. it actually boosts your metabolism for an hour or two!

right then, boodles.

my goal tonight was to get the brokers and something called 3 howls gin because there are like zero reviews of that where it doesn't sound extremely up my alley. alas, there was no 3 howls to be found in the liquor store where i found brokers. and that's how i ended up grabbing the boodles now instead of "eventually" (it was totally on the "eventually" list). i knew i wanted 2 bottles and i considered just grabbing the gordon's to conduct my "cheap gin experiment 2019" but talked myself out of that because i felt like it'd be weird to hand the cashier a bottle of gin that's considered premium and a bottle of gin that's considered tractor fuel.

so anyway, boodles. it's a little bit perfumey for me. floral, i guess is the actual word, but it's kind of perfumey to me. the brokers had a tinge of something perfumey as well but not anywhere near this.

it's a good gin. the juniper is there for sure. it's a little overpriced, imo, but just by like 5 bucks maybe. i'll drink it, no doubt. (unlike the bombay regs, which i can't even look at and i think i may actually end up dumping.)

anyway, the bottom line on boodles is it's probably a bit too fancy pants for me, but not by much. it's straddling the line. things could be worse, we're just talking about a botanical in the recipe that i maybe don't really like that much or something like that. there are flavored gins and novelty gins and froufrou poop like that that i'll never try. it's not like it's one of those. i wouldn't turn this down but it's just like now that i know what it's all about there's no need for me to necessarily buy it again.
