i'm absolutely trying it as soon as i get it no matter what time it shows up.

i think it's basically "amazon brand", which is what i call everything i order from them that comes with some weird name i've never heard of.

Looks fine. 19 bars of pressure is plenty powerful. Mine is 15.

i can't wait to use it.

last week my stupid nespresso machine growled at me and spit a drop of watery espresso into my cup. i picked the whole thing up and angrily dropped it in the trash.

I've had it since Saturday, won't touch any other coffee now. My buddy has a nespresso, it's a solid coffee maker but I like fresh ground beans.

this thing can do both the nespresso pods and real coffee. i bought 4 sleeves of assorted pods until i can figure out what coffee to buy and how i make it.

i like a nice lungo because a tiny espresso goes too fast for me but I juts do 2 espressos sometimes.

any suggestions on what kind of coffee i should to buy are welcome. does it come ground? do i grind the beans at that dispenser in the supermarket? what do i do?

Buy expresso beans and a grinder for at home.

Mine will do pods as well but I prefer fresh ground.

Use the double shot filter and you can top it with hot water for an americano. Or use milk for a latte, can make a cappucino, mocha etc.

It needs to be ground fine, but not too fine. It's something you have to sort out by trial and error. You're looking for crema, which is the froth from the expresso.

I second the whole beans + home grinder. A burr grinder with and adjuster that can vary the size of the grounds between Percolator (coarsest) & Turkish (finest, just a little finer than espresso).

My beans:

I don't know if this is good for espresso, but it's great for my French press. Drinking some right now as a matter of fact. I like sugar in my coffee, but this is sweet tasting enough that I only use half of my usual amount for most other beans.

If the grinder has preset markers/labels for the adjuster, that helps. Mine has a setting for the French press, but I do a couple clicks finer than that (and about 6 more clicks before I get to the espresso preset) and even at that I get the crema when I stir in the water.

I just have a cheap grinder. All I know is that if it's too fine it starts clogging things up on most espresso machines so I would avoid the finest grind. If it's too coarse you don't get the crema. Also, the tamper is important to get it all packed in,

Agreed. Like I said, the finest grind on many decent grinders, whether the grinder labels it or not, is for Turkish coffee.

And Kick, I noticed on the Amazon page there were questions about the filter diameter. I guess this means they don't include a tamper. So you will need one that fits. Like golfingsince says, it's rather important.
