in the name of science, i have picked up 2 lower-mid shelf vodkas to pit against one another in a knock down, drag out, bloody ass fight for $12 mixing vodka supremacy.

to be fair, i think one was $13.

anyway, after putting a real, honest 20 minutes or so of work into researching this (still as threadicated as ever), i came up with smirnoff and a polish vodka called sobieski. not quite down there with seagram's or gordon's, but a shelf up from those. give or take a half a shelf.

i had read good enough things about sobieski in those fateful 20 or so minutes that it jumped the other lower-mids like skyy and svedka etc.

but this wasn't as knock down or drag out as i thought it might be. i put 2 ice cubes in 2 whiskey glasses and filled them halfway. smirnoff is shockingly good for vodka i think was at every high school party i ever attended. it doesn't really burn much and is pretty neutral tasting. sobieski is instantly astringent by comparison and has more burn than advertised.

smirnoff uses the russian leg sweep as a finisher and gets the 1-2-3.

full disclosure, i was looking for cheap vodka to make jungle juice with over the summer so i thought i'd take you guys for the ride. i mix it with ocean spray cran-grape juice! it tastes like welch's grape jelly and i'll probably be dead by august!

We used to mix garbage cans full of it for house parties. Then one time some girls drank too much of it and 'painted' the walls purple.

It took a couple of days to re-paint the house.

Red Bull Summer Edition: Strawberry Apricot

#Streit2TheReview

Here we go with another summer edition from Red Bull. Love the color of the can, fantastic shade of orange. Terrific smell of fresh cut strawberries. I will say, the first sip had me feeling disappointed. It took the third sip to confirm this is a great Red Bull flavor. A very good balance of apricot and strawberry.

A top 5 Red Bull flavor.

you sunk my battleship! bingo!

okay. there is something i like about this and something i don't like about this and i can't quite put my finger on either one but i'll try.

first though, it smells good. it smells like minute maid fruit punch. the big jug from your childhood.

now onto the taste. when you first pour it in your face hole it's good. more of the smell. fruit punch. i do not taste skittles, but it's still fruit punch and you can't really go wrong with that. howevah!.. there is a strange taste lurking in the background and it sticks around as an aftertaste and as the burp. i'm not crazy about that part. it's not the energy drink taste. it's something else. but it's minor.

this energy drink is probably a success, but rockstar punched is a 10,000x better version of a fruit punch energy drink so just buy the rockstar punched. now you may say "but kicksave856, C4 superhuman performance has zero sugar or carbs! rockstar punched can't do that!" to which i would reply "rockstar pure zero punched is even better than regular rockstar punched so buy the rockstar pure zero punched. also, stop arguing."

so i mean, it's worth a try if you see it but it's not going to change your world or anything. there is also a starburst flavor. i think i know what's going on here though so i doubt i'll bother trying that one.
