That's not a surprise? Canucks have owned the Flames over the last decade and have had a pretty good run overall. Roles are being reversed now, that's the way it goes in sports. Looking forward to some young guys trying to crack the roster and drafting more of them. Benning may yet make some moves for more young players/draft picks.

Again, that's usually how it goes. Canucks have been in "win now mode" for the last 5 years. Trading away picks/prospects for guys who could produce now. It almost worked in 2011 and their beginning to stock the cupboards again. Horvat, Mcann, Virtanen, Shinkaruk, Baertschi are a good start. The team will likely suck for the next 5, 6 years and acquire some good young prospects along the way. Not the first time this organization has been in this position.

And they have a goalie just as impressive as Demko, if not more in Jon Gillies plus Mason McDonald who they drafted ahead of Demko last year.

It could also be said we traded our 3rd round pick for Sbisa, who's 25 and playing in the NHL. How many third rounders make it??

Benning is trying to get the huge void of young talent back due to Mike Gillis and his complete ineptitude. Nucker is being extremely shortsighted because he can't see past his nose.
