The problem is that there were really only 5 or 6 guys in Rochester that will probably make the NHL roster at some point. The majority of the deep prospect pool we have was still in Jr/NCAA this year (Fasching, Compher, Bailey, Baptiste, etc). - HonkFortheGoose
Seems like groundhog day . Same situation every year. Maybe the talent finally catches up on the ice for them this season. Would be a good feeling knowing they would be close to playing on the Sabres.
A flyers fan questioning the sabres goalie situation? How ironic. I do agree about missing those games though. - lung3r
Mason doesn't get enough credit for his strong play, IMO. Best they've had since Checkmanek (sp) had his brilliant season and a half.
But really, next year doesn't matter, it's about improving. And there's a lot of goalies out there to be had this summer. Not great ones, but serviceable.

He'll be a six-foot two, two-hundred and ten pound strong, big center who passes like Adam Oates, shoots like Alex Ovechkin, and just a real committed, durable guy who doesn't get hurt, plays for 15 years and probably ends up in the Hall of Fame.
I absolutely love this quote by Buccigross about Eichel! He's going to be a superstar that fits our city's personality.

Most of those guys did get time on the big club this year. Ruhwedel, Pysyk, McCabe, Schaller, Grigorenko.
Rochester has been pretty good the past few years. This is the first time in 4 years they've missed the playoffs. Last year they made it to the 2nd round I believe. The depletion of the NHL roster caused a depletion of the AHL roster. The good part is there should be a nice infusion of youth in Rochester this year as they'll get a nice handful of guys ready to make the jump like Bailey, Baptiste, Possler and Ullmark. There could even be a few more depending on the college kids.

What would happen if the Oil takes Ike at #1 ? - cabin
I've considered this, and if that's their plan, then it would make sense to keep it quiet, trade the #1 to the Sabres and get something more out of it. Then they take Ike + trades at #2. Would be super smart if he was their target, honestly, since management here has made no secret about how much they want McDavid.
Christmas vacation was kind of sad. It had a bunch of good parts, but overall, compared to the first two, it wasn't that great. - stashu
I have read that they were.... Not sure if there is any truth to it though.
When they come on tv the only two I will watch anymore are the original and Christmas Vacation.
