I can't speak for everyone but my pre-season expectation for this team was making the playoffs and losing in the 1st round. When I saw the match-up against Calgary I thought it a 50/50 chance we could even make the 2nd round. So per my expectations it's pretty much bang on.

In saying that there is a difference between expecting your team to reach a target and then watching them watching them lose - getting physically upended by a non-physical team and losing to a good but not great opponent.

I can feel for many posters on here because it's a crappy feeling seeing your team go down. Even if I didn't expect more, that doesn't make the feeling any better. If you don't invest your emotion in your team it's probably best you stop watching entirely as there are much better ways to spend your time. If you do watch, you cheer.

I knew the Sedins weren't the problem, but this is crazy.

Simply comes down to players like Bonino, Higgins, Burrows, Hansen are not second line players....someone get that picture of the guy beating a dead horse.

Well at least Bonino isn't being paid like a second liner.

He has a friendly cap-hit at 1.8 million for his numbers.

Agreed, however, that's not helping us score.

But he is being played as a second liner. (3rd in ice time)

Horvat needs to be eating those minutes, our leading scorer is getting 12 min a night...

Yeah Horvat is only player I like watching.

Seeing Burrows contract at 4.5 million makes me

God I would love to see that contract disappear.

You can have a solid team without second liners but not a playoff or stanley winning team.

True, but all our lines other then the Sedins are getting killed. Depth throughout the line up was supposed to be a strength of ours, but the bottom half of their lineup is badly outplaying the bottom half of ours.

It's too bad that a pretty amazing performance from the Sedins is getting wasted.

The Sedin line has a +24 shot differential, the highest of any line in the playoffs. They should be scoring more but they're still boss. At least against Calgary.

What Booner says and Lefty has been preaching all season.

Looking forward to seeing what Benning pulls off in what could be a very fluid off season league wide.

Assuming we lose this series.

I wonder if Horvat could be asked to join Team Canada.

Not sure if his development is there yet.

Two first rounders plus the players and picks they get back from Kessel. Let the games begin
- VANTEL

unlikely.

Kessel isn't worth two first rounders.

MAYBE 1 at this point. plus 1 B grade prospect and a C grade prospect and a 7th round pick provided Kessel is coming back with a 5th rounder and a C grade prospect.

I never said Kessel will get two first rounders. I said TO has two first rounders plus whatever they get back from the Kessel trade.

Surprised to see the Jets out in four. They've got a bright future in front of them with their draft picks though.

The West's playoff picture could be much clearer after tonight.

The East is still pretty muttled.
