Yep, get ready for some flat American garbage with zero substance or character.

Enjoy!

I think they are still waiting for this to become a rivalry or whatever.

Classy.

I'm a little agitated. I couldn't sleep last night, had to get a shot in the shoulder cuz of bursitis, and I haven't eaten. Plus I have to do my taxes.

I'm just ventilating on the Flames. I don't really want the Nux to do that stuff when I'm feeling better.

Still a ways to go before this becomes a real rivalry.

I think "manufactured" is a better word. The Flames and their fans seem to think it's a big rivalry.

And the Canucks fans seem to have a problem with that....what's your point?

We have a team of complementary players - we need players to hit and finish more.

I like our players but we have too many guys like Hansen, Matthias, Higgins. At least one of these guys has to go to bring in a good checker or finisher.

- hillbillydeluxe

I meant a team of players that complement each other - snipers, playmakers, shutdowners, grinders, bangers, D who stay at home, D who jump in the rush, etc.

Not a team full of modestly-talented tweeners.

Who has a problem with it? I think it's funny. Reminds me of when Vancouver used to play the Wild and the Wild fans and commentators would always say it was their biggest rival.

If Disney sports films tell us anything, we should beat the better teams...

I remember that.

We had a rivalry with Chicago. That's well and truly over now. I don't believe we've had a true rivalry since.

Haha I think it's funny too, on both accounts.

Daniel responds to Engelland shove after the whistle by picking up Flames' stick, handing it to him. Skates away. Engelland stunned.

Is there any video of this? I didn't see it last night.
This was definitely in the 1st or early 2nd period. I remember seeing this when I was not passed out drunk. Which I assume happened somewhere in the middle of second. For Rye and Whiskey affecianados here. I started my Canadian Rye binge and have found some real gems.
Century 1525 is really good as well as Ninety 20y/o aged rye.

yeah.

We used to play more of a grinding style, limiting time and space. The grind has disappeared. They really need to get their confidence back. Very tentative.

We have seen them elevate their play during the regular season, just haven't seen enough in the playoffs. Need some one to step up and WD to ride the hot hand.

I think it's cause Flames fans haven't been in the playoffs for a while so they don't know what a modern day rivalry looks like. Usually takes several consecutive years of making the playoffs and playing the same team.

Meh....I think there's always a rivalry between Van/Edm/Cal no matter what. At times it is more intense I agree. But no matter how good the Flames are I will always hate Edm/Van the most and consider them public enemy #1.

I personally feel WD is out to lunch more and more with each passing game. He seems to look past the obvious solutions for some creative attempt at finding chemistry.

At this point, given how freakin' challenged we are to score, Miller will need to start posting .940+ percentages with a shutout or two if we are to find a way out of this.

Hate and rivalry are two different things. We hate LA something fierce but it's not a rivalry given that they've been handing us our lunch for years. TO undoubtedly hates us but the Canucks have been giving them beatdowns for so long it doesn't count for much.

The Canucks have been getting the better of the Flames for close to a decade and this is the first time we've faced each other in a high pressure situation in a generation. This is a good start but I think we'll need a few more years of series like these before we starting getting in each others heads. That's when a real rivalry begins.

Disagree. Our rivals are well and truly on the coast. You're in the East.we look north south.
