This is what I think what happened. WD talked to his good friend torts , who is trying to convince him about the sweet deal he has. Sign a big long contract , work one year , (frank) up , then kick back and enjoy the next few years on the beaches of Tahiti drinking Margaitas and getting paid by Aquillini. He called it the Mike Gillis Golden a Parachute contract.

They gave us a good year. I am ok with that. I would like to see a lot of new faces next year.

On a good team he'd be a 2nd pairing guy. He's always been like this if you watch closely. Decent player but not top pairing material on a team that has aspirations of making a deep playoff run.

I think we've put it off long enough. We need to use our 1st rounder this year on a Dman. There are some good ones that should be available around the 20ish range.
