Note to the Canucks - if you want to keep Ferkland off the ice, get ahead a goal. He's only on the ice when the Flambes are ahead. He's a one dimensional player.

Aside from his dumb penalty he was absolutely neutered tonight
Sven was invisible tonight, and is showing what Calgary fans said all along
"he is afraid of contact"
McMillan is just an ahl player. - classic321
I'd give Sven a bit more leash. He had a great chance on goal firing a shot just over from the slot. It's tough stepping into the middle of am NHL playoff series straight from the AHL. Unless of course you are 18 year old Sam Bennett.

It was heartbreaking listening to Hughson and the Canucks Broadcasting Corporation last night. Until the Canucks took the lead, their heart really wasn't in it. Good win for you guys.

I know such homers.
I remember the good ol days when broadcasters were legends. I can stil remember the days when Foster Hewitt would broadcast a game, Habs would kick the Leafs ass5-0 ,and then hear FH announce his three star selection.
The first star from the TO Maple Leafs Davy Keon
The second star from the TO Maple Leafs Frank Mahovolich
And the third star from the Maple Leafs Johnny Bouwer

Vantel, let your obsessions go man. From what i gather you are getting on a bit. You don't wanna take them with you.

McDavid swing you over to the Oilers? - LeftCoaster
Yeah, thought after the 20th first overall pick we should probably win a cup and i could say I wasthere near the beginning. Also i am apparently helping the Leafs because as fans we are the problem buying ball caps and stuff. I'm part of the solution.
Hey Zogg, I have to respectfully disagree and challenge your argument about the sedin's bein playoff performers. If I just quickly compare the playoff versus reg season points % vs Games played, here is what I found. I will preface this with I am not a statistician or an expert in any way shape or form where the stats, fenwick or corsci are concerned.
Hank Reg Season 84% points/game playoffs 73%. difference 11%. That is a win or two in the playoffs.
Daniel Reg Season 83% vs 69%. difference 14%.
You can see where the playoff performance can be negatively affected by this. One anchor is all you need to sink a ship if you toss it through the hull.
Now of course those numbers are skewed by the run in '11. I won't bother tossing the high and low numbers and averaging the rest. Clearly this simplistic calculation utilizing elementary mathematics states that there is a drop in performance. You have to agree with that. Your best players MUST be just that in the playoffs.
Just for fun I pulled Iginla out as a comparison and again I utilized some basic math to draw a conclusion here. Like the Sedin's Iginla too had a long playoff run.
Iginla
88% reg season vs 83%. difference 5%. <-- supports my argument.
Of course like kesler Iginla really never had a supporting cast to achieve the numbers that he did. You did point out that he's a power forward like Kesler. This leads me to your second paragraph about longevity. Now as far as that "staying power" in the league due to a perceived dysfunctional cerebellum, I would argue that iginla will have a long career, maybe longer than the Sedins only based on his current age 37, 38 in July and he had 29 goals or there abouts on the back of a rough season for colorado as a whole.
In terms of the "cerebral nature" of the sedin's play, I agree they are methodical in nature and uber skilled as a unit. The Sedin dump in or cycle is getting played out though.I am sure there is more in their repertoire than just that. Teams do have access to video and have a playbook on most players who've been around for a time and they adjust. So without augmentation to their style or the addition of a new element of play I would suggest their time may be limited, moreso than Iginla. My guess is that they will at the end of this current contract head home to close out their career and play for the SEL. So again Zogg I have to respectfully disagree. - CanuckSMEG
I am still trying to figure out if you are trolling or actually believe this media driven garbage? If you do then you are a bigger dumb ass then I suspected. you cannot compare the regular season stats to playoff stats. In the regular season teams play bottom feeders to pad their stats. In playoffs only the elite play. The mere fact that Sedins are within 80-90% of their ppg range from regular season when compared to playoffs means they are in the upper echelons of the players in NHL. I agree their style is not what the media wants and by extension dumb fans like you. Not everybody needs to play the tough aggressive hard hitting hockey to be successful. Canucks over the years (at least during the Sedin years) have had no secondary scoring so teams always stick their top checking lines and best d pairing on them yet the Sedins can still maintain decent ppg is a testament to their toughness, skill and perseverance. I am no fan of Sedins but I appreciate talent when I see it and I can tell you that if Sedins had the secondary scoring help that Gretzky had (also a soft player) then we would be talking a modern day dynasty. I am not suggesting Sedins are at the same level as Gretz but just that every team that was successful in the playoffs had insane depth and abundance of secondary scoring. Vancouver does not. So before you decide to regurgitate your media driven garbage here, I recommend looking at things a little further then just what Cherry says.
