They're not winning tonight with Hansen on the 1st line.

I just don't get Willie's fascination with Hansen on the Sedin line. It looks good on paper (fast skater, right-hand shot, will forecheck hard, etc) but it just doesn't work. Even worse, it takes Hansen off the Horvat line, which is one of the lines that makes something happen every time they're on the ice. So you end up with 2 lines that aren't as effective.

Put Matthias on that line, and plant his big a$$ in front of Hiller. Put Bartschi in there and see what happens. Put Vrbata back there and play them 23+ minutes.

Stupidity: doing the same thing over and over, and expecting a different result.

ps.. also pull Bieksa and put in Stanton. Can't be worse that what KB is bringing right now.

Wow, I feel better now.

I believe he said the two clubs had a hell of a rivalry and wanted to go to Vancouver where he was wanted.

Said Flames in 5 when the series started.

The forwards are not the problem - you could put Gretzky with the twins and it's not gunna matter. 1st line to 1st line, the twins have played better.

The problem is our defense.

Flames: Russel, Brodie and Wideman = 11 points. Van? Elder, Tanev and Sbisa = 5. They've been struggling to get the puck out of their end and have been turnover machines.

PP? Middle of the pack. PK? Dead last. Who're the top three PK guys? Sbisa, Edler and Tanev.

this whole narrative about bae being "cast aside" or "forgotten" by the flames is starting to piss me off. guy was given every chance to create his space on the flames. he was given all the time in the world at the beginning of last year, was called up a couple times this year, he just couldn't supplant other guys.

he quit on the flames. he wanted out and that's why he got traded. i get it if that's what he thought was best for his future, or if that's what his agent decided, but the idea that the flames just didn't want him around anymore is dumb.

- chester97

If Vancouver thought so highly of him why did it take until game 4 to call him up from the AHL and game 5 (after injuries) to put him in the lineup

Calgary had him in the AHL as did Vancouver

The fact he is a RFA after this year and needs to be waived to be sent to the AHL is why he was traded

Our defence was bad yes but Lack was shaky. He played decent hockey. You don't make it far in the playoffs with decent hockey. I was nervous for him. We have a six million dollar goalie that I am more comfortable with. We have a ton of other thing s that contributed to the losses yes but goaltending has to be #1 in the playoffs it wasn't with Lack. Hell I feel poopti the way Miller came to take over. Kid had a great season proved a lot to himself and to others.

I will admit to feeling better when Miller took over last night. Just seemed cool as a cucumber. It's raining today though so I think we're (frank)ed

It all comes down to a sense of entitlement with him. He has not figured out that he has to earn a spot. He was comparing his ability to iginla and others. Sad fact is that he was passed by several guys including Jorris, Granlund, Monahan, Gaudreau, etc. Gotta play 200 feet and his corci is offensive zone starts. I wonder if he's improved on that.

Loved him as a offensive player throughout Junior but now with the big boys, you have to pay a pound of flesh to win here. I don't see it yet. Man I hope he finds it, just not tonight.

Our coach doesn't like to play rookies unless he coached them 5 years ago

Hopefully Kenins isn't in the lineup so we don't have to listen to Hughson call him "Ronny" all game.

Maybe you need a lesson on how we do things here on Canucks thread.
Monday- Hope
Tuesday- Bipolar
Wednesday- WTF ( usually a result of the bipolar comments on Tuesday)
Thursday- Turrets
Friday- trade everyone- fire everybody.
Weekends- we observe several religious holidays and refrain from making it any worse for Carol or the regular posters here.

Now that I have fed the troll please piss off and let us enjoy our turrets Thursdays.

Thanks man! You know it is a bit of a surprise to see just how the series has gone. I would have expected more from the Canucks. To see them go out in 5 or possibly 6 to the flames is unforeseen for sure.

Then there's the flames PP being huge in the playoffs like it is, along with the play of the rookies Bennet, Gaudreau and #79 (Ferland) has been of note. I think the canucks should muzzle players at this time of year, don't need to "wake the giant".

Have to still wonder if it was money well spent to sign the Sedin's to a new long term(3 yrs remaining) contract given their post season performance. They are awesome players historically in the reg season, just not in the play-offs.

There was a time where I criticised the flames for keeping Iginla past his best before date. Trade the assets when value is high not sliding out towards mediocrity.

Good luck to both teams tonight, just make it memorable and entertaining.

Flames 4-1.

First of all, welcome to the asylum

The Sedins argument has been done to death so all I will say is, you are wrong that the Sedins are not good in the playoffs. All you have to do is to check out their play-off scoring and you will see they are right up there. Again and again, the problem is SECONDARY scoring and not the Sedins

P.S. it was a completely different situation with Iggy. Iginila's play is based on power-forward type of style and is not one of a cerebral nature. The Sedins, on the other hand do not rely on their skating or a power game. Their style is having incredible on-ice hockey sense. As such, their career is going to be much longer than a guy like Iginila or any other type of power forward - or even a guy that relies on speed
