There is nothing wrong with that as long as you don't have a team full of them.

Someone needs to score

There is when he's a liability and Kessel is just that.

Ennis is a fully capable 1st line winger, especially if he's on a line with Kane and Eichel.
- Herzeleid

Disagree. At this time a 2nd line winger who can improve to be a 1, but is not there yet.

Not really a Kessel fan, but I agree. Cody Hodgson's play style is acceptable if he can start potting 65 points a season.

No whats comical is why anyone would want to spend a dime on Kessel.

Let him rot in Toronto.

He's not what this team needs now. Not even close.

The cost far outweighs it all right now. You and I both know the other 1st, prospects, and other picks aren't getting it done. Girgensons will be the start and IMO the conversation ends there.

Maybe in 2 years but at that point he's 30 and we all know what happens to one trick ponies at that age.

Because there are plenty of teams with the ability to take on a contract like Kessel's? That have the amount of picks and prospects like we do? That have a real need for a top line RWer like we do? It would take something like the late first this year and a lottery protected 1st next year as well as a prospect like Compher and a roster player like Pysyk.

It's a lot maybe more than I would like. Would I do that exact trade? Probably not but if a deal could be worked out I would be all for it.

Again I am not just saying we need Phil Kessel but I would take a player like him in a heartbeat.

It turns the PP around especially with a true center.

I want to add talent to the roster. Phil and all his fatness is a talented hockey player that happens to player in a market where he gets torn apart every game playing for the most dysfunctional franchise in the league.

Having him as RW #1 and Ennis as RW #2 is much better than Ennis as RW #1 and Gionta as RW #2

Maybe. But I would rather have Ennis on the 2nd line

And...and....and

That doesn't even get the ball rolling.

ROR and their 2015 1st for Kessel and 2015 2nd add things as needed.

IMO this is in the ballpark asto what Toronto wants. Kessel is signed where ROR isn't.

Toronto is going to "tank" next year especially since missing out on McDavid. I see them doing a proper tear down like the Sabres began 3 seasons ago.

They can't move Kessel for less.

What they get for him has to equal or better what they gave up.

If they can get ROR and their 1st it helps the rebuild in a big way.

They may have no choice. I don't see Toronto getting 2 first round picks, especially one being a top 5 one.

a first, a prospect and a roster player. Your standard hockey player trade. Similar to what Bobby Ryan got.
