If I know one thing. The ability to punch people in the face and to "be mean" absolutely makes a defensman good, no matter his hockey skillz.
Nik Lidstrom was the worst defenseman I have ever seen, no one was scared of him!!1111!!1!11!. - ImThatGuy

Speaking of Scott, how many teams "took liberties" on our players this season without him? I don't recall |

Deslauriers is a pretty tough customer. It's not like we were icing a team of softies out there. The difference is the guys we have that will fight are also useful in other ways in the lineup. |

Possible draft pick placement
NY Rangers-26, 28, 29, 30
Montreal-26, 27, 29, 30
Anaheim-26, 28, 29, 30
St. Louis-23, 24, 25, 26
Tampa Bay-below stl, 27, 28, 29, 30
Nashville-below stl
Chicago-below stl, 27, 28, 29, 30
Washington-21, 22, 23, 27, 28, 29, 30
NY Islanders-20, 21, 22, 27, 28, 29, 30
Vancouver - 19, 20, 21
Detroit - 18, 19, 20, 27, 28, 29, 30
Minnesota- 18, 19, 27, 28, 29, 30
Ottawa-17, 18
Winnipeg-16, 17
Pittsburgh-15, 16
Calgary- 15, 27, 29, 30
Bold are division winners. St Louis is now out, so as of right now, they have the 26th pick. Anaheim, NY and MTL are all ahead of STL, so if any lose in the next round, the highest the Blues can pick is 23rd. Lowest is 26th.
The math is a little difficult right now because we're too early in the playoffs. But yeah, if any teams below the Islanders make the finals, they move lower than them. As you can see, the difference between the NYI and STL pick will be something around 5 or less. One way or the other. - TheSabresTaco
So the best 1st round pick that buffalo can get from the islanders if they lose tonight is 20th? |

I believe they could end up 17th if Detroit, Minnesota, and Calgary all make the conference finals. |

Pittsburgh, Winnipeg, and Ottawa are all out and have fewer points than the Isles. That gets us to 17. The remaining 3 teams with fewer points are Detroit, Minnesota and Calgary. If all 3 make the conference finals and the Isles don't, that would be 18th no? |

Minnesota- 27, 28, 29, 30
Ottawa-17
Winnipeg-16

Vancouver finished higher in the league standings than the Isles. I believe they would be 19th and the Isles 18th.

His brother subbed for gym class at our middle school, I remember him being kind of douchey back then. My cousin dated their sister Katie for a year or two and got to go to some free NBA games when he was playing for the Hawks. He also got a picture with Jordan when the Bulls were playing the Hawks which was great since Chicago was his favorite team. Also was invited to Bowman's lake house in Angola when Detroit won the championship and the Cup was with him. He's got some pretty cool pictures from that time. |

Classic Hockey Buzz relate.
So you know all the family's darkest secrets right?
(Laughing with you, not at you.)
In 1986, at the Kentucky Derby, I shook Willie Shoemaker's hand as he walked into the Jockey's Gate. Later that day, I bet a boatload of money (for a college senior) on Willie's ride, Ferdinand. To this day I still send Willie a thank you card. Most of them come back as undeliverable, cause I don't know his address. |

More than likely none of those teams makes it to the conference finals anyway so I think the pick is going to be 21st. |
