call me crazy.. but it looks to me that the forearm/elbow hits just below the head, in the neck/upper chest, and then the rest of his arm/shoulder makes contact with the head. the principle point of contact looks just below the head. Don't get the poof of the jersey mixed up with the actual contact of the forearm/elbow. He did leave his feet tho. Not too long ago this would be an awesome legal hit. ..but concussions |

Reminds me a lot of the Karlsson on Beaulieu hit. No suspension was given. |

Kronwall's lack of suspensions over the years—as pointed out by Bob Duff—have less to do with his hits (which are often dirty), than it does former Wings Colin Campbell and Brendan Shanahan conveniently looking the other way for years.
Kronwall has raised the combination of targeting the head, raising the elbow and skates leaving the ice to an art.
His garbage would be a little more tolerable also if he ever answered on the ice for his dirty plays. But, no, that's never happened either.

In Kronwalls defense, his elbow was in, but he was off his feet and the point on contact was Kooch's head. Good to see he wasn't hurt on the play, but I don't see a suspension at all. A) it's the playoffs and B) it's Detroit. Let Paquette hit Datsyuk like that and see what happens. |

Is this actually a serious thread? Did no one see what karlsson did to beaulieu? How are you supposed to hit a guy head on? He kept his elbow tucked and didn't jump? Keep your head up kid and try not ducking.
Oh and complaining about the one sided reffing? Your team has the most PPs per game in the playoffs so far so relax.
Also Palat jumped at Glendenings head with no penalty earlier in the game. This is so dumb lol let's make something out of something. Kronwall has had much worse where he has jumped or elbowed. He stayed on the ice with his elbow tucked. Kucherov ducked and didn't get his head up. Such a stupid article geez.... - HomestyleMelt

You sure about that? If you want to say Palat's hit deserved a penalty then no way Kronwall's doesn't.

When you indicate a team under your name on these boards, it shows you're a fan of that team. So either you're a skidbag detroilet fan, 1 of the 5 Nashville fans in existence or you're just a douchebag. - Conquest

You sound so stupid. Kronwall never got suspended because his hits are RARELY, and i emphasize rarely dirty, because they just look like it, theyre big hits and look worse than they are most times,
second no wings or anyone else in the league gets super favoritism, i hate this cynic conspiracy theories, its just plain dumb, no one looked the other way
now all that aside, im a wings fan and think kronwall should get suspended 1 game for this hit, he left the ice prior to contact. I dont think he targeted his head tho |

I can't believe this is even being talking about? Hedman didn't even go after Kronwall. Their own team didn't even think it was dirty but there is a thread about kronwall throwing dirty hits for year without punishment lol this is almost comical. - HomestyleMelt
No Hedman didn't go after Kronwall b/c he didn't want to take a retaliatory penalty in a do-or-die game.
The hit is borderline. Did he leave his feet? Yes which according to the NHL rulebook is charging. Was there head contact? Yes. Do I think Kronwall will get suspended? No. However there absolutely should have been a penalty called.

lol the whole entire wings feed is Tampa fans... and trolls should have nothing to do with knowing whats worthy of a suspension. Keep your head up and dont try and duck the hit. Karlsson hit beaulieu with almost an identical hit and somehow this is causing a whole commotion - HomestyleMelt
Kucherov didn't "duck". He has his head down b/c he was carrying the puck but ducking into the hit not so much

Just don't....they wont agree. All I've said is Palat jumping at Glendening is what I call leaving the ice. Not lifting your skate 2 inches off the ice. Kucherov didn't even think it was dirty. Guys comes 2 inches off the ice and we call it jumping into his head. Guys elbow comes up as he's falling forward...oh right must be an elbow. - HomestyleMelt
Arm was up at initial point of contact. It was not an elbow as the head was not the only point of contact but arguing the elbow did not come up until after the contact is ludicrous

A redwing player grabbed Johnson by the head, bounced it off the boards, slammed him to the ice and jumped on top of him. Get you eyes checked! - Artyukhin76
Ericsson
More of a body slam then the board contact. Live I thought the same thing but watching the replay he didn't slam his head. He did body slam him though and may have thrown a few while he was down. Without the head slam however it was nothing our guys haven't done. Playoffs and scrums...poop happens

Most are not dirty but he always timed them perfectly but he's older lost a step and the timing so he will get 1 or 2 games for charging with the head shot after launching off his skates. It was dirty this time |

I agree, i think he should get one, i dont personally think he intentially hit him in a dirty manor, but it was not a clean hit. Wings fan admitting it was a lousy hit and he deserves to sit game 7.
but more than even saying kronwall is dirty, which to me seems dumb
saying wings get any special treatment is so stupid, no team out there gets favoritism, so any time some one says "he wont get any suspension, or penalty... of course because hes a red wing!!"
get lost with that, Theres a million instances someone didnt get the suspension or penalty we all felt they deserved, it has 0 to do with what team you play for and im sick of hearing crap like that |

Almost as blatant was Ovechkin's cross check from behind directly into the boards against the Islanders last night. As usual, he is an animal and that is ignored by the League, which desperately wants him to win.
Not surprisingly, there were no penalties called against Kronwall or Ovechkin last night. Both should be suspended |

Ovi is a complete douche. He's ended two players careers with his wrecklessness. I'd love to see him sit for a some games, but he's too marketable. |
