Kucherov didn't stay down cause our guys don't flop all over the ice trying to get calls. No respect for Detroit anymore. Dive more than the Penguins.
- omatty44

Good on Kucherov for getting right up, but the rest of your post is garbage. Go complain in your own thread. I don't have any issue with people being mad over the hit, but the embellishment thing is happening in every game in every series by every team. Including yours.

Enjoy the hearing, Nick!

You do realize it was a phone call? They just wanted to know where he would be spending the summer and if there are any decent golf courses in the area.

No suspension

You know, I have respect for you and your blogs. I really didn't expect you to be in here trolling Wings fans. If you think it was an illegal hit, fine. If you think it should warrant a suspension, fine. But get the hell out of here with that garbage.

EDIT: For the record, I have no issue with this being a suspension. He got him in the head, and I'd be mad if that happened to one of the Wings players. The onus has to be on the hitting player to avoid the head.

Ever since the Havlat hit he's whined and complained about Kronwall every chance he's had

No suspension. Kucherov finished the game and seems fine. That's the way the NHL works. It's not the hit, it's if the player was injured or not that determines whether or not a player gets suspended. If Kucherov was out then Kronwall's out for game 7. Odd logic and sad but true.

Personally I felt the hit was borderline. I don't feel he was targeting the head as it was not the only point of contact. Kuch got caught with his head down which also played into the head contact. That being said there are aspects that certainly skirt the line of legality. I do NOT believe he will be suspended however the NHL has to put this hit on record with a fine b/c as much as we all want big hits when the NHL is "trying" to dissuade head contact you can't allow a hit like this to go with nothing. I don't think he "jumped" but the fact his momentum took him off the ice means his hitting motion was upward which in most if not all cases will lead to head contact. The worst aspect for me was no call on the ice. It wasn't a dirty head shot so no match penalty but certainly should have been 2 mins.

Agree with all of this. The worst part of the NHL's discipline is allowing the result to dictate the punishment

Duff took every statement people (team and opponent) made after the hit and homerized it.
I wonder what his stand would be if a Lightning player laid the same hit on a Wing especially someone like Zetterberg or Datsyuk.

Not trolling. Sorry. I found Bob's phrasing to be in need of some adjustment in terms of the reality of the player and his hits over the years.

I appreciate your open-mindedness otherwise.

Everyone has their opinion, but are you saying you didn't intentionally try to to elicit a response from Wings fans? One of our most important players is going to miss the biggest game of the season. Like people aren't mad enough about it without you poking them with a stick. I dont think you want us doing that same thing in your blog.

Abby was drilled with the exact same hit in the first period behind the Tampa net. Forearm/elbow right to the face. Not even as much as a hiccup in play on that one.

Bottom line is, both players being hit were bent over cradling the puck, kind of hard to miss the face when they're leaning into it.

So you were reading all my comments on the interwebs prior to that? THANK YOU.

But speaking of that hit (and some since) . . . "rugged" or "suspendable?"

Also, you're right, it's just me and my butt-hurt over Havlat. NO ONE else thinks Kronwall has gotten away with murder. Good Lord.

Peace. Cheers. Good luck in game 7.

A discussion? Sure. A response and "troll" catcalls. No, really, I wasn't.

And by all means, take some shots at Shaw or Carcillo if one or the other levels a dirty hit, I guess. Not a problem for me. But both have been suspended for their stuff, haven't they?

So if I do that exact same thing in your blog, I will be welcomed with open arms by you and your fellow Blackhawks fans? Generally I try to start discussions with factual points that support my opinion. If you have an issue with Kronwall, that is your right to your opinion. It was a bad hit. He should be suspended for Game 7. Want to talk about Sharp's testicle stick work on Lidstrom?

Although the principal point of contact is the head, Kucherov needs to do a better job keeping his head up. He had plenty of time to see that Kronwall was coming yet he chose to reach for the puck around Kronwall.

You can see that Kronwall has the elbow tucked in by his side and feet are on the ice when he makes contact.

I hate to see guys injured and hate concussions. If you want to give him a two for hit to the head, fine, but no way this deserves a suspension.

Kucherov needs to do better keeping his head up. Especially being near the boards.

"Kronwall, one of the league’s more questionably dirty bodycheckers who should have been suspended many times during his NHL career . . ."

Fixed it for ya, Bob.

You should get your facts straight big guy. Nobody here cares about what you find or your biased blogs about the Hawks. It's too bad because some of us enjoy watching the Hawks have such success after modeling the franchise after the Wings.

This is the first time someone has been kronwalled in years. Why you may ask? Because he has enough respect for the players and the league to adjust his game to avoid such controversy.

Personally I think there's nothing wrong with the hit as do the players involved. The kid got caught with his head down. that's it that's all.

By the way who's that creepy old fat gray haired guy as your avatar?
