I agree with everything except the age part. His target age range should be someone in the 25-28 range. He needs some established players to play with the kids especially if Reinhart is going to be here.

This is true, but I was saying those "types" of players (bad/awful contracts on cap strapped teams) we would low ball to get them, so not giving up much. If we want a younger top 6 forward, we would have to pay, but is a better long term solution.

Not necessarily true. Isles did OK doing it last year grabbing some pretty good players from some of the same cash strapped teams.

Patrick Sharp's contract isn't bad 2 more years at 5.9 million I know he is on the wrong side of 30 but there are still guys like him that are going to be moved.

Loui Eriksson has one more year at a 4.25 hit

Oshie has 2 more years at 4.175

Backes has 1 year at 4.5

I do remember that too, I wanted Leddy for Chicago (especially at the price it took). I heard the Sabres could target Savard from the Bruins due to some of the cap rules, a team cannot be over 10% of the cap during the off-season and LTIR does not "start" until the season does, so his salary will keep them from making moves, not to mention a new GM there is almost a sure thing on making moves (of some sort).

The narrative that Boychuk and Leddy propelled them into a contender is just not true IMO. They are good players, but the Isles are successful because of their forward depth.
