Kadri=more experience and would be a solid 3c.
Leon= potential to be malkin lite lite on an ELC.

Jvr= skill good good winger... nothing to shake a stick at.
Eberle= skilled good good winger... he gets the edge but makes more money.

Bernier. Good back up but not the starter we despritly need... if we fail to get one tho... I'd take him solely as we need a goalie anyway.... stop gap.

If you want to keep the pieces the same and add Dion into the party then I'd say something like...

no because we are going to retain 1.75m of Dion's salary instead to make his contract and value more meaningful... but toss in Nikitin to offset the Dion cost as well.

The Leafs finishing where they did was a byproduct of the team giving up. Keep in mind, the Leafs were a playoff team under Carlyle.

Bernier is better than Scrivens and Fasth hand down. Play some D in front of him, and he will look amazing. Also, he's a former Leaf.... they all do well after leaving Toronto.

The Oilers with Dion, and minus Nikitin is an upgrade on D.

They will probably have the most potent offence in the NHL.

The only way I take Phaneuf is if I'm not paying a dime..... in the sense thet you minus what ever nikitin makes and retain the rest.... Bernier and Screven would be ok but I want to see what happens with O'Connor first.... we're still on his short list...
