Sather apparently never gives permission until the season is over. That's why Gorton never got interviewed by the Pens last year even though they had him on their shortlist.

Makes a bit of sense. Don't want any distractions while the playoffs are going on.

I am not sure you'd get much of an argument from NYR fans if Dan Boyle got the Stu Bickel treatment late in tight games. Thats not happening however, AV needs to be on his game and he should probably use a little more of Staal on Ovechkin.

When Boyle scores that game winner, just remember TPC believed

I'm 99% on board with rolling the four lines and three pairs of Dman. In playoffs, matchups are done each shift, but I would definitely like to see some double shifting of Dman to go up against Ovi. Its gonna be next to impossible to do it on the road with line change rules, but at home I think AV better make sure that Boyle/Yandle aren't on the ice at all against Ovi

AV has made mention of that top line several times now, I think he will go out of his way to take him away. Its easier said than done when OV is Marshawn Lynch on skates but if they can manage to control him a little better, they win this series in fewer than 7

Edmonton is going to have to give Boston compensation for Chiarelli

if Bruins end up with Gorton, we should get compensation too

Yea so far through 2 games outside of Ovi, Backstrom, and Kustnesov no one else really scares me to much on that team. It's still early though and other players can step up. But yea containing Ovi a bit more will help.

Always easier said than done, buy AV MUST make a effort to do so. I would like to see some chippyness towards Ovi as well. A stick in the nuts once in a while does wonders.

I actually disagree on the last point. That's just not the Rangers. They pride themselves on the whole whistle-to-whistle thing, and I think they just need to be themselves, and not get drawn into the extracurriculars. Not saying they should play tough and standup for themselves, but be physical with a purpose (not just for the sake of acting tough).

I think Kreider is fully engaged. AV changed out his memory card between Games 1 and 2, he is now programmed to terminate with extreme prejudice

Crazy all Kreider needed was a fresh pair of double A batteries. Wish they would have changed them out back in January

It looks like they may have found something with that line. Instant chemistry and all three players looked real damn good.

Easier said than done. haha Dude is a tank. Just need Kreider to plaster him into the boards a couple times a game. And Staal to knock him down.

You see some of the quotes Marcus Naslund gave Fast when he played in Sweeden. How he is a true playoff performer who always brings his game to the next level come playoff time.

All kidding aside, the problem with OV is the more you do that kind of thing to him, the angrier he gets the more Ivan Drago-like he becomes. Ivan Drago is not a fictional character, he wears #8 for the Caps.

They should hire a guy to be behind the bench with an extra pair in his hands in case of emergency

I am real interested to see him play from this point forward if he stays on that line. We may be able to get a sense over period of time in the playoffs, whether we may be able to expect a little more from this kid -- can he be a good Top 9 guy?

I think Kreider has a career in wrestling after hockey. No one can escape the Kreider head lock

Oh yeah, Ovi is one of a kind. I think he enjoys getting hit sometimes. haha
