His drafts weren't very good. It's one of the reasons the Pens were constantly trading picks and prospects for wingers for Crosby and Malkin - PhillySportsGuy
Hey outside of poor drafting, being unable to build a better team around Crosby and Malkin, overpaying mediocre players and winning only 2 playoff rounds in 5 years despite having two guys who are among the best 4 or 5 guys in the world, Shero was great for the Pens. |

You know as long as it's real and not vanilla pudding with tapioca in it like you get at the store. That's just wrong. - mayorofangrytown

Let's see if Ray Shero can get two of the three best players in the world. If he can, look out, second round of playoffs. |

You've just probably never had it.
We just ate at a tavern outside of Paradise this weekend and they had it. It was real, warm and delicious.

They lost the series because they couldn't score. That falls on Crosby and Malkin. They lost four games 2-1. Their defense, and goaltending in the series was plenty good enough to win. - PLindbergh31
crosby had a pretty good series.
malkin was a ghost, but he definitely wasnt healthy.
letang/maatta/ehrhoff being out hurt the offense just as much as it did the defense. the pens usually get by with poop wingers because they generate so much offense and creativity from the back end. |

Oh god, I can't believe someone hired Shero. And its the Devils at the expense of Lou.
I love it! |

I would do that deal in a heartbeat with the way Tampa is playing. I doubt the Jets do it though. Buff is a legit top 4 physical presence and produces offensively. - hereticpride
A first round pick is a first round pick. I wouldn't trade that level of assets for a one way offensive defenseman. Flyers have Streit and Del Zotto. I think that deal would be a big mistake for the Flyers to make.

i'll never get over 2004. i remember that game 6 like it was yesterday.
interesting thing in noticed in the handshake line was kim johnsson shaking hands with his left hand, i assume because of the injury he sustained to his right hand in the waning moments of game 5 vs. that scum sucking nj devils franchise.
i'm very high on NAK....look forward to his continued development. he's not the only one. i think they've got some sleepers which could end up being huge parts of the team in a few years. |

The draft cannot come soon enough. I'm sure it's tempting to trade one of these picks to upgrade this roster, even for myself. However, once the choice is made in the draft, there is normally a lot of pride and excitement around the player chosen. I'm very excited to see who we choose.
I will say this though, drafting the best playing available isn't always the way to go. If it's a no brainer pick in terms of the best available player, sure, go ahead. I personally believe the Flyers need to walk away with at least one forward, hopefully a natural winger. |
