they apparently now have small cameras drilled into the the insides of the posts, one on each side, part way off the ice - i couldn't see where they're located from the close up shot they showed last night. i had no idea. only the war room has that camera feed, which also apparently was "inconclusive". i have no idea what those cameras are capable of showing. either way they didn't work. they need to fix this somehow. there has to be a way to do this with sensors and some kind of field created between between the goal posts. - hammarby31
They need a couple of cameras in the crossbar looking down, and in the vertical rear support pipe, too. All angles should be covered.

Agreed, but in the case last night enough angles were covered. The replays on the NHL Network were clear as day. |

Sensors around the circumference of the puck
Sensors along the length of the back of the goal line - Scoob
Any pucks that go into the stands, security will be asking for them back. They'll need to carry pouches of 'unsensored' pucks on their hips as replacements. |

I didn't see it, but if the foul-up was that blatant, there's something rotten in Denmark.

I'm not a conspiracy guy so I'm going with gross incompetence.

For re-use, unless the sensors are cheap enough that it doesn't matter.
Plus, it was an attempt at humo(u)r. Major failure.

He was pretty effective on one shift, shutting down a guy with speed trying to penetrate the zone. He stayed with him and tied him up. No shot, and puck possession went to the Hawks.
If a lack of ice time is keeping him solid when he does skate, good for them. - tangent_man
Yup, must be pretty nice to be deep enough on D that Kimmo Timonen is your #6

For me it's impressive because Kimmo Timonen is a name. I'll admit that I haven't watched the Hawks game in and game out but every time I do decide to tune is, Kimmo does something to hurt that team. |

I'll probably have to wait half an hour to view the message, what with all the updates and installs the system does anytime I do anything |

I watched the entire game last night. For the few minutes he was on the ice, Timonen actually played fine. Sure he's no spring chicken and basically missing the entire season did him no favors either, but the Hawks really are that damn deep.

You know the PS4 can install poop while you're sleeping, right?
EDIT - I mean it might be time to upgrade. |

I'm still rocking my PS3, man. Does that qualify as retro gaming? |

I still have my PS2. It's not in use at the moment, but should I ever feel the need to play NHL 2003...

I think the PS3 can do this, but they put it behind the PS+ paywall. Womp womp. |
