Former #Lightning Head Coach Guy Boucher told @TSNDaveNaylor that he HAS been approached by an NHL team. Listen for the interview at 4:30pm. - Jsaquella
If Lou Lamoriello were still alive, I would bet those New Jersey Devils might have reached out. |

he'd fit nicely on the wing with 28 and 93, no? not that i am advocating for him. - wilsonecho91
He'd be great with them. If Raffl can score 20, Crouse is a bigger more physical version who should score 30 with G and Jake.
But the 2nd line would still be suspect, and we'd still have trouble scoring 5 on 5 outside of the 1st line. |

Werenski and Provorov? Sure. Meier even. - mayorofangrytown
You've been saying Meier, but do you mean Rantanen? A few have Meier top 10, but he's probably somewhere in the 2nd ten and maybe even falls outside of top 20. |

Better than one of Strome and Marner? - mayorofangrytown
Yes.
Not that he will, guaranteed. But I think if he had been healthy, he's a top 5 pick |

I think you could plug Crouse in with Giroux and Voracek and have a 25 goal scorer within a couple seasons, at most, maybe even 30.
But, like you, I prefer guys who will drive the play, either up front or from the blueline. I think a guy like Marner or Barzal will not just fit in as a good player, they'll elevate the level of play of those around them. - Jsaquella
Completely agree. As much as I was digging Strome early on, I might be higher on Barzal right now. Maybe that's a little because we have no shot at Strome but Barzal is a realistic possibility, love the one you're with and all that. But the more I watch of him and read about him, the more I think he fits with this team.
I'm starting to settle on him or Provorov. That's always dangerous lol. Means they're picking Rantanen or Zacha or Werensky. |

I trust you. You've seen him more than me. I only saw him in the playoffs. Probably as much as I've seen Marner. They seem at a different level. Strome has been all over since he plays with McDavid. I saw the Otters tons.
Meier I've seen when they played Rimouski early and watched him a few times after. I really like Meier. He reminds me of Corey Perry in that I feel like he's a little over looked. Putting up points is nice but putting the puck in the net is important. |

Fair enough. I actually like him better than Crouse. He plays C and LW though. Curious, what do you like about him and why would you pick him at 7. |

Edit: Typo. He plays RW, NOT LW which is more of a need. |

Meier's a beast. My top 5 at 7 is Barzal, Provorov, Rantanen, Werenski, Zacha...Meier is right outside that group with Crouse |

I don't think I would pick him at 7 unless there's a run on the three D. If all three D go then there's a chance that Marner falls and I take him.
As forwards go I have Strome, Marner, Meier, Barzal, Rattanen. I only like Meier over Brazal because he puts the puck in the net. I think that's an important trait. I've seen plenty of guys with skill who can't finish. |

He's been banged up and has looked invisible in a couple games I watched. Other games, he looked like a beast. |

Fair enough. I actually like your reasoning. You've convinced me to check him out a bit more. Still worried about him being on the right side though, given Jake and Simmonds and to a lesser extent, Schenn and NAK. I think 2-3 years out with high 1st round pick and at this point all of those guys should be on the team. But I'll spend a little time looking at some tape. |

I think the NHL should sell penalty calls as advertising spots.

So the guys from THWs? ISS has him 12th in their overall, 10 in NA. McKeens is at 10.
Damian Cox and Ryan Kennedy both have LW Lawson Crouse rated higher. Why take a center if a LW is rated higher? - mayorofangrytown
http://www.isshockey.com/iss-top-30/
The ISS Hockey has him eighth overall in their April ranking, and I think you will see his ranking shoot up as we near the draft. He was great in the U18 tournament. |
