If they want this team to be a run and gun team maybe it's Bergevin's head they should be calling for.
MT is getting the absolute best out of the talent he has IMHO. Builds around his strength...goaltending. - stormeyweather

Seriously though. He says they've been calling for his head since 2013.
They were a final 4 team in 2014 and had the second best record in the NHL this year. - stormeyweather
The self-called analytics experts apparently think that this team could be a Corsi jugglenaut and that Eller is the #1 center we've been waiting for for ages.
Yeah he's a bit old school and likes the good ol' dump-and-chase, which does kinda sucks, but I think people forget that they were supposed to be rebuilding slowly when Bergevin came along, but Therrien made them overachieve considering the team he had, and now they're apparently a good coach away from the Cup. |

It's my indirect way of saying the rest of the roster sucks. |

Of course they will eventually turn it around and find a way to score some goals. The question is will they have enough time... and will they score enough goals... |

this summer will be Bergevin's 4th offseason running the team, and in all that time, he has done absolutely nothing to bulk up the offence aside from the Vanek rental. he's done a solid job with cap management, identifying core pieces, maintaining a strong focus on the draft. but i think he's been caught off guard by Price. Bergevin came in wanting to build through the draft but all of a sudden he's got possibly the #1 weapon in the game in Price, entering his prime 3-4 years. he might have to shift course and supplement the current roster instead of always keeping both eyes on the future. |

Especially when you see WASH (offensive team) leading NYR (defensive team), when you see LAK missing the playoffs... You need to score goals!! |

Would be nice to see Sherback make the team next year and make an impact in a top 6 role.
Won't happen thought.
I'd seriously consider a trade for Yakupov ( if the Price ain't stupid) to have him play with Chucky. |

Washington is a very good defensive team now....and the Rangers scored more goals than them in the regular season. |

There's not a lot of untouchables on the Habs, but Pax is one of them IMO. A team which cannot score goals shouldn't trade its only player able to do it!
But I like the idea of getting Malkin. |

That's the price to pay to get rid of Desharnais as our #1 center! |

You don't fill one hole (top-line centre) by creating another (top line winger). |

exactly, and you just know that Malkin would start to suck the moment he steps on the ice with the Habs |

I don't really see a match.
They will want a similar (in terms of development) defenseman. Montreal's young D aren't there yet. |

And of course, the other 29 teams will be jumping at the occasion to trade for DD. |
