I think they can do it. Very difficult, but just win tomorrow and take it from there.
- Pete V

As fans we don't like to do things the hard way. We want to win 3 games in one night. Doesn't work like that. Rangers need to take it one shift and one period at a time. You do that, anything can happen.

i think that's a bit much. the Rangers are an outstanding team. but winning the Stanley Cup is really, really (frank)ing hard, and lots of really good teams never do it.
- DoubleDown

After making the finals then winning the Presidents trophy while finishing 3rd in goals for this is a systematic problem, not AV but the entire organization, the mentality for a NY team will never change, pass first, pass second, The Rangers talked a lot about "changing the ending", it was all talk

I think these games are just coming down to who gets the lucky bounce or the opportune goal. Every single one of them has. The difficult is that the Rangers have to find away to do that 3 games in a row, because I don't see the offense right now blowing anyone's doors off. Win one, get it back to Washington, score early in Game 6 and then the pressure starts to build on the Caps a little. 4th one is always the hardest one to get in a series. The Rangers just need to find away to win the next one, and make the Caps start thinking a little.

I like Rick Nash, I really do. He is working his butt off but man he is really never gonna be able to live it down in New York if he doesn't produce in the playoffs. Everyone says trade him, the dude has a NMC and is in his 30s. He isn't going anywhere. For his sake, I hope he writes his own ending here and gets going.

Well said, My one line to surmise is .....we have now found ways to lose when we used to find ways to win...
1st rd we kinda sorta got going while Caps had high intensity series w/ fish hds.
Zucc is where we lost or mojo & Offense has continued to sputter .
Officials & P O's = higher tolerance to hard play ..YES but an allowance in P O's that didnt exist in reg, season?
NO EXCUSE we should know how its going to be called ...
Gm1 bang from behind to head in corner w/ 5 ticks left on Boyle.... NHL wants that play ? isnt that why we have Iceing rule?
Gm 4 accidental or not a slew ft in the lane ? as the player is turning into it the
lane gets cleared? ....as usual the refs & affirmitive action to balance & elongate
series = revenue...
O K , takes 4 , ugly hole, no magic except the CREATIVE in A V ...
IF u juggle your combos its admitting we couldnt beat u as is ...
with that said thats why it didnt happen last nite ...BACKS TO WALL ...
ANYTHING GOES ,double shift ,find combos that can break thru..
Glass ,worth every penny for the whup ass on Gleason ... lil junk yd dog
Mac... oH captain my captain..... PLEASE find the game u can play .... that
goal was the worst we have given up all P O .... whatta time to brain fart!
Stop thinkin & just go on hard fast skill, to much deliberate slow play from him

L G R : this is what great stories are built on..... which one will it be

N Y R fights thru the adversity & plays like the Pres cup team to ......
OR .. i have a golf reservation for SUnday Mother day .... 8am

I WANT HOCKEY ON SUNDAY ..... L G R

Pretty much spelled out what I thought of AV coaching, following on your comment from early this AM. I never try and write when angry, cloud the judgment. If I thought the effort was lacking, as it was last year against Pittsburgh, I would be writing angrier. That's not the case. Effort is there, execution isn't and hard to coach that.

What would ranting and raving do? I am angry but more upset at situation. The two mistakes yesterday cost them a win. It stinks that there is no margin for error, but when there isn't, you have to play smarter. They didn't and that's why they lost.

- airjan23

If that's the case, pressure is certainly a mitigating factor that's on the players & not the coach. The Caps players handling the situation better - possibly a reminder of you guys last year?

Yea it's why last year I laughed when all the trolls kept saying the Rangers are getting lucky, only reason why they are winning. Hell yea, puck luck is half the battle come playoff time. You have none, I don't care how good of a team you are, little chance you are advancing.

Keith Yandle is a utter utter disappointment.

I am not talking defensively, but I really believed he was going to be the missing piece to lead this offense from the blueline.

His shot from the point is very weak, last night after the Rangers made it 1-0 and had that great flurry he had the puck on his stick in front of the net and flubs it.

I am not giving up yet, but I understand no one having any confidence right now.

- jimbro83

Yandle is exactly why Sather should be fired, giving away 1sts like candy and nothing to show for this "win now" mentality, it's get Dolan as many playoff home games mentality, Someone needs to be held accountable for this disgraceful performance but it'll never happen

So Then was scoring 254 goals during the regular season all bounces? There's talent to score goals on this team, there's just no balls, guts, heart or determination to scor them when it's important

How odd is it that both Tampa and Washingto won a game each in exactly the same way? Its as if, these two teams are destined to meet.

Montreal controlled most of that game last night. Just can't get a bounce. I think that series is far from over to. You can never count out teams that have Hank and Price as goalies.

They've been kicking it hard at times right through the season - especially against us although Trotz tactics were questionable to say the least!

People say we'll never win a Cup with Hank, reality is we will never win with this marshmallow soft playoff performer, I defended him to no end since last spring, said a million Times this would be the year and he'd show everyone, he made all the haters right, Thanks Rick, just another shining star that goes out on broadway

That's fine, but I am still gonna cheer my butt off and hope he does. Cause what's the point of loving a team if I give up on them. I just can't do that.

See Vin, you're equating effort, heart, balls and guts to execution and breaks. Nash took a shot last night that was deflected twice and squeaked by the post. If that works out for him then the team probably wins, and if it did does that make the team more gutsy, or ballsy or resilient? They haven't executed, its got nothing to do with effort. You don't think they played their asses off last night?

Sorry Pete but no one wants to hold them accountable, the taste of this year won't go away for a long time, I appreciate your ability to stay focused but this team doesn't have a shot in hell of coming back maybe if they scored 2 goals a game
