AV needs to mix it up to drive some life into the offense ... Nash and MSL need to be separated, two struggling players on the same line with your top goal scorer these playoffs ... why?

Line Combo's IMO ...

Hags Brassard Hayes
Kreider Stepan Nash
Miller Moore Fast
Glass Shepard MSL

double shift the first two lines and tell everyone to hit and shoot!!!

- JackBurton37

Hayes to wing, Nash on the off-wing, all a little too crazy. I do want to see Hayes with Nash and Brassard with Kreider and see if it does anything.

Yandle has a contract that runs for another, which a team 35 million dollars debt is paying half of.

- tomburton99

Not sure why your disputing the comparison - Yandle will cost 7m to resign. Perron half that, which we can afford - can you guys afford to resign Yandle? Both contracts finish at the same time. Unless you guys 1. Win Stanley or 2. Get a 1st back next trade deadline then you can probably be unhappy with the trade cost & result - it was a high risk trade but is still in play this year.

Hayes was already shifted to wing at points in the season, and I saw him on wing for a shift ot two last night ... and I have Nash on RW, where he normally plays.
I'm just looking to load up the front 6 with the bigger guns and to do that, one of the 3 centers needs to shift over, Plus I'm all for giving MSL the Brad Richards treatment. I can't believe he was on for the final minute ...

Yandle is still on the books at $2.5 per next season. As for the season AFTER that, well that is too far away to be worried about that just yet. But that deal was made with the idea we get Yandle, for 2 years at $2.5M which is quite good, despite his massive struggles this post-season.

But, if you are going to rip front office moves. Rip the Boyle contract and the St. Louis deal.

EDIT: Missed that this was in comparison to Perron whose contract is the same situation. Perron deal to me only looks bad because Pens didn't lottery protect it (it worked out obviously.) IF Pens missed and IF they won the lottery... well jesus christ I cant imagine the fall out

Rick Nash deserves the Conn Smythe
- znagle

I thought Nash played well the last two games. There are plenty of other players to point fingers at. For one, the last two playoffs (I know he was hurt last year) McDonough has been mediocre. Also I don't know, maybe just for faceoffs purposes, but why is Dominic Moore on the ice when you are down one facing a 3-1 deficit?

Our biggest problem in this series is that Marty St. Louis could not fill the void left by Mat Zuccerello on the first line...

Let that thought sink in.

As I feared at the time and is coming to fruition. You cant put your eggs in 38 year old baskets (St. Louis and Boyle). Just can't.

How much longer are their deals? Isn't St. Louis up this year?

I'm not trying to rip or argue anything. I commented on a comment by 1 of you comparing Yandle to Perron. I'm not talking about cost as it is I'm talking about the price you guys paid which was high - dispute that if you like but it's there, it is what it is.

Pens season end was horrendous until the playoffs. Can't be disappointed about being defeated by the Pres cup winners & SC favourites in our condition.

Still if someone responds about the Yandle trade by comparing Perrons it is a little silly!

Yes, if that occurred the Pens blog would melt - probably with all the Rags fans giving us 'advice'.

Yes, but you gave up 2 1st for this guy (granted Cally thankfully signed in TB, which kicked in a 2nd rounder coming back our way this year). Just massive over payment for a guy demanding he come to NYR.

But Boyle 1 more year... at $4.5M... 35+ contract thing kicks in where he can retire and it is still on the books. Didn't like the deal then, hate it now.

I am not. I agree 100%, I thought that you thought we paid that for a pure rental, when we have him next year too at a good salary, that's all.

I forgot what it took to get St. Louis.. I would rather have Cally still if I were the Rangers. That Boyle deal is killer.. Would you guys be interested in Scuderi?

Ryan Callahan has zero goals and 3 assists in 14 playoff games with Tampa.

As much as I want to think they can come back I have zero expectation they will.

Aside from Hank, Brassard and maybe one or two other players, this team is made up of regular season performers and playoff no shows.
