Just get rid the Pens fans

We are talking hockey on a public hockey site. I guess I missed the part in the CoC that had the NYR Country Club application.

Wrong. 2 Firsts. And we got the 2nd back. Two first rounders is what makes that so hard to swallow.

And the deal looks bad. Why did we HAVE to have one of Cally or MSL. Why not option C. Cap space AND the picks...

- mrhattrick27

The second first round pick kicked in when the Rangers went to the finals. The original deal was St. Louis and a second for Callahan and a first.

Yup, I get where the Nash anger is coming from, but holy crap it gets old. Same poop every game, its all Nash's fault. Apparently every other forward on this team is exempt from scoring goals.

If the last two games had gone the Rangers way (and let's be honest, every one of these games has been a coin flip - even Game 2 ultimately), Ovechkin would be starting to hear it again (and he may well yet depending on how this series plays out - no longtime Caps fan is feeling anything other than that this isn't over yet).

According to Sather it was the first thing discussed. Called Maloney and said "I want Yandle but you have to take half his salary"

Part of the price paid was "trading" for that $2.5M in cap space which is vital.

- mrhattrick27

It's funny looking from the outside in sometimes, paying what Sather paid but getting the kick back. He'll obviously call that a good deal which it will be if 1 of my previous points eventuate. Plenty of GM's do strange deals ((frank)ing cough choke Despres), & it's easy to criticise after the results are known but I think most would say at the time that the Yandle deal was/is a very high risk move. Time will tell.

This isn't just Nash; this is a team wide problem. Aside from Brassard, and perhaps Hagelin, not a single forward has elevated their game this postseason.

Granted Ovi has much better overall assists & points in playoff games than Nash, but he was kept of the board the last few games, and he is the best goal scorer in the league by a mile. It happens, its where other players have to step up. Like Burakovsky did for you guys last night.

Yeah I dont think its over, but it got a lot harder for the Rangers after last night. Been a very close exciting series so far, unfortunately for us the Rangers have been on the wrong end.

Apart from paying high you did get some back by having the Yotes pay half his salary! Not sure how that was achieved but it was great work. I think they're paying 2 salaries now that aren't on their team - which is supposed to be a budget team!
- Aussiepenguin

Everybody knows that the Yandle trade was a high risk/reward trade. If a few more goals were scored by NYR this playoffs, then it wouldn't be talked about b/c NYR would be up 3-1. Now that they are in this predictiment, you and everyone else will point out the Yandle trade. Series still not over, and Yandle on the books for 2.5mill next year. How bout you stop bringing it up now and wait till after next season.
We have plenty of other stuff to worry about, and believe me so do the Pens

Now that I'm awake. You started the morning coming not to talk hockey but to rub salt in wounds. That's called trolling. And it's covered in the Code of Conduct. Enjoy whatever you do when you aren't trying to annoy people on line for the next couple of weeks.

Brass is the only forward who should be getting no criticism.

- mdw7413

nobody with half a brain is letting anyone on this team off the hook for these pitiful offensive numbers. st. louis is taking just as much heat as nash and rightfully so. stepan has been dreadful this series. nobody can open up a shooting lane. i get you're sick of hearing about nash (i am as well), but this is the second post season in a row he's pulled this crap. it's almost as if he went into the playoffs expecting to slump and is trying to make up for it in other ways.

Rangers got a second round pick back. The original deal was St. Louis for Callahan and a first. The second pick kicked in only if the Rangers advanced to the Cup finals.

The deal looks bad now but not entirely because Callahan is nothing more than an average forward, with injury issues, and they already traded one of those picks away in last year's draft.

- MidnightMarauder

Callahan outscored MSL this year... Granted their pace is about the same.

Same spot they were in last year against Pittsburgh

- airjan23

As a non Ranger fan, I'm curious as to why, in a game where the team is struggling to score, Keith Yandle gets only 13 minutes of ice time? Maybe I'm wrong, but didn't you trade for this guy to generate offense.

Oh well, we may have missed the playoffs, but at least we have 2 first rounders, including one in the top 10, in a very strong draft. Enjoy your summer.

More changes are needed, they need to add size and proven playoff performers to make up for Rick Nash, they also need to explore bringing in a PP coach that can turn it around and not just yet another PP QB who makes no difference, trade Talbot for Pouliot and ask Edmonton to pick up half his salary

It's clear, Nash can't bring his regular season scoring prowess into the playoffs. It's now 49 games played, 45 with the Rangers, and he has a total of six goals and five with the Rangers.

Simple and plain, it's just not good enough.

Justin Williams, do whatever you have to do to bring him here. He is exactly what they need.

The anti-Nash, if you will.

I can't even fathom the thought of another summer with more changes, going through another whole season hoping just to get back to this point.

The whole thought process is making me sick

Yeah I'm with you, I want nothing more than Nash to score goals. I'm not even a huge Nash fan. I love what he did this year, and I think he gets very little credit for how good he is in other parts of his game by non Rangers fans, but like you said, this isn't a Nash issue, this is a forward group issue. I also understand Nash will take the hit because of his salary, but damn if people are going to blame someone, blame all the forwards.

I think all the forwards are gripping their sticks a little tight and Holtby is playing amazing, and Trotz has the Caps playing great team defense. Got to give the Cap's credit here also. Rangers are playing good, they just can't finish.

I'm closer to falling off the grid than making it any further as a Rangers fan, this team is gonna lead to me living in a shed in the woods, the misery they create and the haters who feed on it make it impossible to live with
