Bookmark this post if you like, but there is no way Hextall is going to move Streit this offseason. Not after being the team's best defenseman last season, and playing the most minutes.
If the Flyers are out of playoff contention at the 2016 trade deadline, then I think Hextall will look to move Streit to a contender like he did with Coburn. - Feanor
It is probably the best time to do that. You want to trade the guy now when he has high value. What use is he going to be in a year or 2 if he is regressing? The Flyers are not going to be contending for the cup. You are better off moving him and fill in the blanks during FA |

I think you're right. We're just very crowded at forward. Maybe only need to add 1 or 2 guys. Bringing back Ryan White could be 1 of those 2. - mochoson
I think Winnipeg does everything it can do keep Stempniak and Stafford in the fold. Kopecky is nice but the team is loaded of bottom 6 players.
That 2016 year is the time to make a run at guys. Many will be re-signed but the list as of now includes:
E Staal, Kopitar, Lucic, O'Reilly, Buff, Stamkos, Grabner, Kesler, Seabrook, Vrbata, Backes, Eriksson, Okposo, Perron, Hamhuis, Voracek, E Johnson, Anisimov, Giordano, Hudler, Brouwer, Nielsen, Yandle, Gilbert, Bieksa, Helm, Abdelkader and Cam Talbot.
I don't expect most to hit the market but the time to plan a strike would be in 2016 imho. |

I don't think Meier is a good choice at 7. If we are going forward there, I would have Barzal, Rantanen, and Crouse above him. A couple of things temper his impressive statline:
First, he was playing with Nikolaj Ehlers the third leading scorer in the Q.
Second, two other draft eligible players in the QMJHL had 40+ goals and 90+ points and one of the other two is a projected third round pick (the other a late first/early second).
Those and some scouting reports I've seen make me think he is a mid-teens pick instead of a top ten pick.

Non-engineer here but that is exactly what I was thinking about yesterday.
But wouldn't you need two of these wires? With the puck laying flat you'd need one at the bottom of the puck and one at the top. I think this would give full coverage no matter the orientation of the puck when it crossed the line. Then all the ice sensor thingy (again, non-engineer here lol) has to do is be able to detect when the puck is completely over the line. - Scoob
No, because the only thing that would matter would be the volume of the wire. No matter what the orientation of the puck is, it would still emit the same field per square unit as it crosses the plane of the sensor. You're talking about plane detection, which you can't do with a knuckling puck (the plane could be broken multiple times if it was spinning on the goal line like a quarter being spun on edge). I'm talking about an electromagnetic field with a sensor having depth of the diameter (or more) of the puck. |

Meh.
Could just be me but I think HB is kind of dying off. Doesn't seem to have the same amount of posts in general as in years past. Just a vibe. I am sure there is some kind of "hit counter".
Would be curious to see the numbers. |

I remember when I first joined, which is disturbing to think about in 2008 we were pretty much able to post anything, including half scandalous photos. A bikini shot will be removed within an hour.
Sponsors don't want to be associated with that. Maybe don't take up half the page with your (frank)ing ads. Who the hell even clicks on those? All it does is make me annoyed at the company forcing me to look at their annoying BS, and less likely to shop there.

Someone should just tell him he's playing in the IIHF tournament. He's good at the international stage. |

I agree about ads. I'm just glad that companies don't realize that internet ads piss people off and keep doing it keep more sites free.
Edit: I can post pictures of Claude Giroux not being arrested, if you'd like. |

Archaic way of thinking, that you will draw people in with the ads.
Like those same fools that think putting geographic restrictions on media will do anything. I am watching (frank)ing Australian Netflix right now. Suck it. |

I will enjoy seeing them lose. St. Louis lost some respect from me with that whole Tampa thing.
Not the same level of hate as Jersey or Toronto, but despise them none the less. An Anaheim Tampa/Caps final would be cool. Id like to see OV win it finally. |

Basically, it's like pouring yourself a glass of water. As you hold the glass under the faucet (puck starting to cross the line), it slowly fills up with water. Then, if you take the glass away and take a sip (puck getting pulled away from the goal), there's less water. But if you let enough of the water into the glass, eventually it fills up (puck completely crossing the line). It's just a measure of electrons and/or coulombs, basically. |
