Strong final words from Alex Ovechkin: "We’re gonna play our game and we’re gonna come back and we’re gonna play Montreal or Tampa…"

They could have won either of these games. (frank) them. (frank) the Caps.

Such a shaft he got called for the puck over the glass later there, thank the big guy Caps didn't convert.
- B2B76

It was evident that it hit the glass to the reasonable fans. they didn't show a replay until a minute or two after. I think this was a "(frank) you, i'm the ref and made the call and refuse to believe it another way" more than "let's see if they can tie it."

But man, if they scored on it and then won in OT, that would've created quite a storm.

Elias Sports Bureau

Most playoff goals by #NYR players age 24 or younger: Ron Duguay 24, Alex Kovalev 16, Chris Kreider 14.

- mdw7413

the thing about Duguay is they traded him before he turned 26, haha

But, I do remember the late 70's -early 80's playoff rounds and Duguay being great, especially the '81 run

But Kreider has 16 now after the two last night, he was an absolute monster

Caps chirping a little before Game 7, with Ovechkin basically saying that the Rangers shrunk when the Caps starting hitting the Rangers in the third, and Kuznetsov saying they have the better goalie. A lot of talk that is for sure.

The Rangers won't say a word & that's fine by me. We have the resume, our record in Game 7s the last 3/4 yrs says it all.

Elevated. The 3rd period last night was typical Rangers. Can't stand prosperity but usually find away. They've now played 13 consecutive one goal games in the playoffs, which is absurd.

Should be a great game tomorrow for you guys. Looking forward to watching it.

Yep. Just shut up and play. I get the Ovi guaranty, but he pretty much called the Rangers soft, which I don't get. It almost like he is trying to convince himself. Great player but not sure I agree with the tactic. It's a huge game for him on Wednesday, no doubt. Wonder how he deals with it.

Doesn't he need to live up to the "All Series baby, all series" before he starts making new guarantees?

This is why I love the Rangers, they just shut up and play

How about Dan Boyle huh? Guy has been steady as hell back there over the last few games. Finally got a big goal to last night. Even though most wanted him scratched for Hunwick lol

I give credit to the Capitals for that push last night. I don't think it was so much the Rangers taking the foot off the gas pedal as it was the Capitals played with more desperation than any team I have ever seen for about 15 minutes.

But, they still couldn't do it even with a ridiculous powerplay at the end.

Ovi loves to talk S**t! He said same thing during regular season about how NYR wilts when they get hit. Then we smoked them in last game of season!

He thinks he's Messier, but Mess had the right to make guarantees b/c he had 5 rings already on his fingers. Ovi's got nothing! He guaranteed Olympic gold and look how that turned out! Kusnetof is a tool also. Both goalies playing amazing, and to say Holtby is better than the King is ridiculous. F'em. If we didn't have fuel in our fire now, well look out Caps!!!!!!!

They will deflect the talk publicly, but you know privately they will use it as motivation. Ovechkin did a lot of talking early in the series. "All series baby, all series". The fact remains, it took two off the charts shots to beat Lundqvist, so if that's the only way that Ovechkin can beat Hank I like the Rangers chances. The Caps will have a surge or two like that again in Game 7, I just hope the Rangers have a plan for it. I don't think they liked their performance, when this team has an uneven performance such as last night, they tend to figure it out quickly and respond.

Caps did have a great push, but NYR...since the beginning of time, goes into that "prevent" defense when they are protecting leads! It's tough, but they need to keep up the pressure and not just sit back
