Babcock appears to be a smart man, not sure Nolan is on the same level as him. Lots of teams seem to be going to the GM by committee these days by bringing in multiple hockey minds to try and build a team. Maybe it can work in Buffalo, I have my doubts but that seems to be the way the league is going these days.

As always a great read. But I am not sure Babcock is the right coach. He inherited a good team in Detroit. The question I have is who would he like as his assistances will be?

Every team he interviews with is going to have some deficiencies. Its going to be up to him to interview the team, evaluate their plan, and make a decision as to weather another teams plan looks better than Detroits.

Yes, his assistance is important Homer. They run the special teams and most often diagram the plays at the end of games after a timeout. So yes IMO they are very important.

Rex Ryan a premiere coach? Ya he's not even at .500 with his winning percentage in his career. No way is he a premiere coach in the NFL.
