I said it was devastating, and I totally agree about it being tough to make the playoffs, etc. This was about as clear of an opportunity to make, and possibly win in, the SCF as the Caps have maybe ever had (in '98, everyone knew that they were outclassed by the Wings going into the SCF, and in '90, the only other year that they made an ECF, they just weren't good enough to compete with the Bruins, not to mention potentially the Oilers in the SCF). Not saying they would have beaten Tampa and Chicago/Anaheim, but I'd like their chances against any of them (just as I like the Rangers chances).

I think you would have beaten Tampa and I feel the same way about the Rangers. I felt whoever won this series was going to the finals. Unfortunately it was the Rangers
