I am quite certain I made the sarcasm very apparently in my post bud... - Guile
It was very apparent bud. I was just agreeing with the sarcasm. Why are all of you guys always so angry? Maybe a Sutter trade will cheer this bunch up. |

Sure, if some team was dumb enough to give up a 1st rounder for him it would cheer up the mood here.

You know what would help replace Sutter's 21 goals? Having a third line that take some of the tough defensive minutes so that Crosby doesn't have to take them all. |

Or wingers that aren't hurt, AHL, or in the box more often than naught on the 3rd line. We could even have 5-8 less goals from the 3rd Center position in this supposed idea of the thread, if the wingers added 5+ more goals themselves on the 3rd line.
Might be a crazy thought to have just a possession, defensive, near pure assist making Center here in Pittsburgh, but wingers can score goals too. |

Seems like Rutherford is the person to blame for all your issues if you're saying that, and the evidence is clear with your fountain of depth your team has. - SRam19
He's certainly to blame for not firing Bylsma for whatever it was, 21 days. That was new territory in organizational incompetence. There is only one way to increase the incompetence:
Mike Babcock is fielding offers right now. Not Willie Dejardins, not John Stevens or Barry Trotz. If the Penguins don't talk to Babcock because they're afraid of a perception, that's an organizational failure much more severe than letting Dan twist in the wind. |

Like I said earlier, don't try to blame the lack of a functional third line on th wingers. Maybe last year you could with the revolving door we had, but not this year. Sutter played with the same guys pretty consistently and he still couldn't facilitate any offense. He was like this with TK and Matt Cooke too when he enharetted Staal's line. It doesn't matter who you put on the wings, a line centered by Sutter will only produce if Sutter gets an open look from the right hand circle, which is unacceptable |

Sutter blackholed everyone he has played with, including Malkin. He's a dreadfully ineffective playmaker so it doesn't matter who is on his line. They won't be effective.

Not pursuing Babcock is one of the dumber things this organization has done in a long time. And that's accounting for everything this organization has done, which says a lot. |

This is why it perplexes me that people are done with Beau Bennett before see what he can do in his proper roll and away from Sutter. It's silly to think that a guy who's had his development stunted can pick up an entire line because Sutter is awful. He could be a good player, but he's not a rising super star. We don't need him to be, either. We just need him to contribute and he won't do that with Sutter. No one can. |

Fair enough, but to start interviewing for a new coach and not guaranteed that they would sign is a huge risk that the pens dont want to take. |

I don't really like Bennett but he is cheap, young, and hasn't even played 100 games yet so I'm fine keeping him around. He's been pathetically injury prone, but so has practically anyone the moment they come to this organization. |

Were you the hockey fan that would play Malkin at C with Sutter on the RW and not the reverse because Sutter is brutal on the boards?
Unfortunately there is no position at which to play Sutter which would relieve him of playing on the boards. If only there were. If only we could make the Earth around only Sutter smaller and therefore increase his mass, or place Sutter in a time machine so as to more quickly realize his full potential as the assistant coach of the Oilers.
If Sutter can be turned into a second round draft pick and a marginal prospect, that's probably the best outcome for the Penguins. |
