I think the refreshing thing about Murray is that he has a plan and he's sticking to it. It seemed like Darcy never really committed to a plan other than "I can't let these guys go. They are going to be something, right?" I really hope if the rumors from both Rome and Buff39 are true that Babcock will strongly urge the Sabres to stay the course for Eichel rather than giving up the farm+ to try and get McDavid.

So I don't post here much just usually lurk but just wanted to pass along something I was told was absolutely credible from a person in the know with the Sabres about an hour ago. Babcock coming here is a done deal. I didn't get the length of contract but it's worth $6 million/yr. Deal will be announced Monday when everyone returns from the World Championships. Thought you guys might wanna know so don't shoot the messenger!

Some may think it is a bit too refined, but I revel in the sumptuous flavors of a Roasted Beet Salad with Chevre and Citrus.

It's like he said after the lottery. Phone calls are free. It never hurts to ask. Maybe it isn't as steep because a lapse in judgement. Maybe he's trying to get both. It never hurts to try, or you'll never know if you don't ask. Which ever way you want to put it.

I don't follow Sabres enough to know anything but...

Does anyone think Buffalo went too scorched earth in their rebuild and are now in tough to make the playoffs for a long time?

If you look at a team like Calgary they only make the playoffs because of great coaching mixed with stellar goaltending, legit top pairing D-men, and some very talented young players/experienced guys. They will also most likely not make the playoffs next year cause they have exceeded all expectations by a significant margin.

Buffalo doesn't have a great coach, doesn't have stellar goaltending, few experienced guys, no true top pairing D-men... Maybe Bogo but he is kinda a #2 guy at best IMO.

I think it is going to take them awhile to get there. 3 + years, I would think.

Again I don't follow the Sabers much so please don't get too excited if I am just completely out to lunch.
