People can complain all they want about ROR maybe making 7 mill a year but that's the going rate and if it's not as of now, it will be. - SABRES 89
As I've said, his comparable players by numbers are Bergeron, Kopitar, and Kesler. All of them make $6-6.5 million per year. Signing ROR for 6 or 7 years at $7 million per would be a steal in 3 years. |

He isnt. He doesn't even play the same position as those 3 - sbroads24
He went back to center this season after Statsny went to St. Louis, did he not? He takes faceoffs like a center. He'd be the best faceoff guy on the team if we acquired him. |

He'll never get the chance playing defensively the way he does. - Pierceme69
You guys realize he already is a 20G player right? |

I would argue you aren't trying suggesting Hodgson is even a comparable player to ROR. - Pierceme69
I never once said that, and Hodgson har more than 1 40(44) point season |

I'm pretty sure he played RW.
Either way, if he truly is on the level of Anze Kopitar, then they would trade Duchene or Landeskog before they trade him. Kopitar would be the best player on Colorado by a mile |

He scored 20 goals once. I realize ROR has only one 20+ goal season as well, but he has 3 seasons with 35+ assists and he plays amazingly on defense. |

Hodgson????? One 20 goal season doesn't count, by that case Jonathan Cheechoo is a 50 goal scorer
Hodgson career numbers average out to 17.3 goals per 82 games |

No he hasn't. He had 44 once and his next two best were 34 and 33. ROR has seasons of 55, 55 and 64. |

He scored 20 once, in 72 games, on a poopty team. He scored 19 when he was with Van then traded. He scored 15 in 48. Take away last year, he is a 20G scorer.
And did you just try to compare ROR to Kopitar? |

17.28 to be exact
47.24 points per 82 games as opposed to 38.02 for Hodgson
Yet plays a much better defensive game. But I have said in the past I do not want ROR |

Buddy. Please. Not only are you forgetting the 8 pts with the sabre so bump that 33 to 41, but that 34 pts was in only 48 games. |

Kopitar is probably a stretch, but his seasons match up pretty close to Bergeron and Kesler the last 5 years. |

Lets be 100% fair here
Hodgson produced when he played with Vanek and Pommer
O'Reilly produces with Duchene, Landeskog, Mackinnon and Tanguay.
Put O'Reilly here last season and he struggles like everyone else. Put Hodgson in Colorado and he probably nets 20 goals.
I do know O'Reilly is better, but it isn't as wide of a gap. This historically bad team has a lot to do with it |

You're right, I did miss the 8 points he had in 20 games with the Sabres. Still isn't a top-6 on a good team. |

You're not even including the fact that ROR plays solid defensive. Hodgson is a tire fire defensively. |

Less optimistic about Babcock with the Blues and Sharks involved now. It looks like Buffalo39 might want to revise his prediction because tomorrow isn't looking good like was originally stated.
Not saying it isn't going to happen, but with every passing day, I like our odds less and less. |

Which is why I said he's definitely better. But I think Hodgson has more offensive talent to be honest.
I'd actually be interested to see what Babcock could do with Hodgson |
