Can I ask why?
Kane and Ennis are the only two wingers that have the speed to play with Eichel - Stripes77
Because kane needs a pass first playmaker with him. While eichel is certainly that, reinhart is more suited to be the "dish master" and mesh with kane and his size/skill combo
My perfect world:
Moulson-eichel
Ennis-girgs
Kane-reinhart |

People can't use that excuse for one player and not take it into account for another player. - Stripes77
They got a problem with Moulson because of his money and contract and that is all. |

With regards to Larsson/Hodgson: That was true for Nolan only.
Grigs is not terrible in his own zone.
Moulson sure as fvck isn't gonna be on the first line but if you wanted him on the 2nd line I'm sure ther would be female doging about Grigs being a 3rd line role. - Herzeleid
I don't know what you aren't getting here.
You can't have a line with a rookie center a less than average winger in his own zone and a god awful winger defensively if you want to win in this league. Patrice Bergeron wouldn't be able to save that line let alone swapping Girgensons for Reinhart. |

Moulson got to play with Ennis the entire season, and Girgensons until he got hurt. He sucked for a long stretch, and was ok at other times. I honestly think he might be the most uninteresting player on this team |

That's a pretty damn good young core - sbroads24
Eichel, Reinhart, Ristoleinen, Zadorov, Girgensons, Larsson, Pysyk, Ullmark plus more future with Fashing, Hurley, Compher, Baptiste, McCabe.. More than comparable if you ask me. Shattenkirk and Peitrangelo are solid, Risto and Zadorov are younger and have more to show. |

That's a good point, while I agree with it I disagree only because I would like to have a line where all 3 players can flat out fly.
Eichel has shown he can clearly pass the puck. Reinhart can as well but I think it would help Reinhart and Moulson playing together if you can get a winger with speed. |

He makes 3 mill a year and not 5, you would say nothing about him.You need to face it, Murray didn't want Myers but wanted Moulson. |

Remember how he got injured a few games after he got traded? And let in a few back door goals in the playoffs for them?
I'm not saying it felt good, but I think it was a good trade for Buffalo. |

Being uninteresting doesn't mean he is a 3rd liner especially next year. He is never going to be flashy. He is never going to do it alone but he is not going to hurt you playing a top 6 role as opposed to a guy like Hodgson IMO. |

Kane isn't a sniper. He creates on his own and is a good player down low, and around the net. Physically, him and Eichel could have dominating shifts cycling the puck |

I agree. But the Sabres can retool NOW and be dangerous before that and beyond. We know what Steen, Oshie and Backes do in the playoffs, I want to see what our kids got along with Kane and other possible additions. |

Hodgson wouldn't even be the center, and Grigs would most likely be better than Vanek defensively. |

Really, that's why he gave Moulson 25 mill. He got Kane to make this team better, that's what you do when you are changing the face of a sorry franchise under a bad previous GM. you move out the players you don't want and bring in players you want to change the dynamics of this team. |

Jason Pomminville is a top 15 RW in this league please do not compare Hodgson and Girgorenko to him again. Pommer also is one of the most responsible wingers as well. |

I would actually enjoy Hodgson to be on the wing with Girgensons and Larsson. That would be a pretty productive 3rd line. I kind of want to see Gionta play on the second line with Reinhart.
I know, I know, but hear me out. I think it would do Reinhart a lot of good to play with a leader in Gionta. Let's not forget this upcoming year is still pretty experimental, I think Reinhart would really be if it more playing with Gionta rather than Hodgson, Girgensons, Grigorenko, etc.. |
