Hard to say. Kassian has value today. Coho- not at his current contract. Remember vancouver did everything they could to hide his defensive flaws and highlight his offense- almost all of his shifts started in the offensive zone, and he played on the pp. I wouldnt say darcy got swindled- neither player is setting the league on fire- it was just trading a young power forward prospect (when we didnt have any that werent 4th line plugs) for a one dimensional scoring center that doesnt score that much and is a trainwreck in his own end. - rover16
Neither player is spectacular, and the situations could reverse rather easily, even within the course of a calendar year, especially in today's league. |

Better how ? in a wheel chair race ? that team is slow. Sounds like Babcock might be playing games. - SABRES 89
Better as in they finished 55 points ahead of the Sabres better. |

Or just keeping all his options open. Like Tim Murray said after the lottery: it costs nothing to listen. - buffalofan19
He's playing games and it shows disrespect to the Wings even if they gave him permission. |

I agree for the most part. I do think however he absolutely will score 20 goals again for some team either at center or wing. - sbroads24
I agree he will too. i dont see him as being that different from moulson. |

And once again, they lost. I'll take the Sabres future over the blues. |

It is hard to say, but to claim Kassian has more value than CoHo is a bit of a stretch. Kassian already has a bad rap with the league for his recklessness along with his history of injuries. If I'm not mistaken, the league is steering away from the "tough guy/goon" type of players which Kassian is making that reputation. CoHo had a bad year, let's see how he rebounds with a serious team not playing to lose.

The Wings gave him until May 25th to go talk to teams, and he's using that window. He's not disrespecting anybody. They gave him an opportunity, and he's taking it. |

This season is an outlier. Not the norm
19 goals as a rookie
15 in 48 in the lockout
20 on the lowest scoring team in decades
....then this season

Because a coach can make a player drop 31 points from the previous year while playing in 6 more games and the player himself is not to blame? |

I may be the most vocal non-supporter of the guy on here, but if even Johan Larsson can come here and look more competent, even under the circumstances last year, you have a problem.
The safe money is on Hodgson being bought out this year, especially if the 1/3 cap figure provision is true. |

You're telling me that is Company A was offering you a job, you would just take it right away knowing Companies B, C and D are also hiring with potentially better benefits?
That's not playing games. That's keeping your options open to see what works best for you. I don't blame Babcock one bit. |

He basically has scored at a 20 goal pace his whole career. Except for this year. He's going to score goals in this league |

I think murray buys him out. He doesnt fit what murray wants. And its the last chance to do it relatively cheap. But i will not be the least bit surprised if arizona signs him to a 2 year 2 million dollar contract and he puts up 20 goals and 45 points. |

There is a difference between top line top PP time, and 3rd/4th line with basically no PP time. |

What options ? you think the Sharks, Blues, Wings and Leafs will outbid the Sabres ? I still think Babcock wants more control and it will be hard to see him get that in Buffalo as of now. |

Just about everybody on this team got first line and PP opportunity, sometimes out of incompetence behind the bench, and sometimes out of necessity. Some did better with it than others, and Hodgson definitely fell in with the "others". |

When you score 6 goals in a season you can't just throw it away. If he was at 15 goals I could agree with you. If he was at 12 I could maybe agree with you. Not when he scored 6 |
