I think the league was disapointed that two smaller market teams got the next generational players. But if the league is smart they would make the rivalry one of the most profitable rivalry in North American sports. In a few years its going to be edmontan and buffalo in the finals every year.

Toews & Kane, Stamkos, Benn & Seguin, all may have something to say about that.

It's more unfortunate that they aren't in the same conference to boost the rivalry. It will be hard to bring the casual fan to relive the rivalry in the cup finals, if both teams make it.

That makes no sense, why bother to go through everything they have gone through just to hire an " temporary " coach. you bring in the best coach you can right now so these players can learn his system and progress. You don't hire a band aid and they won't do that.

The reason they did that is for the guy they've got playing for usa right now. This is still a really a young team that's going to have to deal with some growing pains.

Maybe I'm biased, but 1st period he really didn't have the chance to do anything. Defensive zone starts and no pp time.
