I have a hard time accepting Higgins is part of or should be considered part of the core. I am in denial.

Last season, I was impressed with how the team performed with all the injuries on defence. The same thing has to happen next season, put other players in different roles and give them an opportunity to make mistakes, learn and develop.

The reason I think Higgins should be moved is to open up opportunities for other players to play on the 2nd line and 2nd pp. But if I was JB, I'd want to keep him for the 3rd or 4th line and pk.

Is everyone, ever on the same page?

The big problem is how they were pushed around against Calgary. That was embarrassing.

Something to be said how Pat Quinn and Brian Burke have always envisioned a team being tough, not only big.

If we could get a first for Hamhuis and a 3rd for Bieksa, to me that would be a big win.

Yep.

I was just trying to say, when we had those injuries on defence and we were using guys like Biega and Clandening, I thought we did okay to pretty good. The team has to be willing to give other players opportunities and allow them to make mistakes and not be benched for it.

They want to keep making the playoffs, that is fine. But if they want to sell change and hope, they have to give other players opportunities on the pp and in bigger roles.

Even the least informed Canuck fan catches on after a while. Same players, same roles, same results.

I still can't fathom how Sanguinetti never got a chance on the pp with the Canucks with his production in Utica.

But yeah, we have to get more grit and physicality in the lineup from players that will bring it every game.

Tough players are what van needs and no they don't need to be big, they just need players that have skilled and grit.

Is what most of us expect, I'm all for the youth movement, and sacrificing the playoffs for a few years in order to fix things properly.

The one that got away. Not a brilliant player. But was not utilized properly while here and would look great in the bottom six.

Maybe its just me.

Well I'd like a bit of everything but we have size in Kassian and Mathias, everybody can see how tough those two are.

Problem is they only pick their spots when they decide to use their size. No consistancy whatsoever..

Very strong possibility neither of those two will be with the team next year. That's why I'm questioning their philosophy.

Would you

Edler Virtanen and our 1st for Aaron Ekblad

Kid is an absolutely stud and would be a corner stone on any cup contender in a few years. Personally I would not sure if Florida would

The one thing that impressed me from JV watching him in the Juniors is not really his skill set. Which is exceptional. But I liked more of the fact he used his body and frequently pissed people off after the whistle. He possess's exceptional skill and loves to mix it up. Something this team sorely needs.
