If I am Detroit do I even want Babcock knowing they have his replacement already picked? Because if I am Detroit its one or the other knowing Blashill is going to be offered a NHL job sooner than not.

When I was 20 I had a chance to become either a customs guy or a Buffalo Police officer. At the time no college degree was needed. I opted not to and looking back on it now I'd be 16 years in with 4 left to retire.

I can tell you I did not weigh all my options then.

We've all got situations just like that. I try not to get hung up on them. Being a cop is only good for getting out of speeding tickets and getting away with dark tints on your car and nothing else. Border guy would be a waaaayyyyy better gig. Trust me.

I guess I just think this is a lateral move. Same league, same job title, same country. If its really that stressful to change he shouldn't make the change. Plus I'm sure he's set financially. NHL network had posted a list of highest paid NHL coaches. Surprisingly the top guy only gets 2.75 and the other were at 2m even.

I'm not hung up on it at all either. Just saying why you weigh all the options.

As far as set financially, yeah he probably is but wouldn't you want to make the most money possible and while doing so make sure it's the right fit for your family?

1 cup and Babcock is worth 5-6 mill a year ? Quenneville will be worth 8-9 when it's said and done.

I grew up in Buffalo, my entire family is from Buffalo, I have a wife and child. I picked up and moved for a job that paid better. I can tell you I am not talking millions of dollars but still it is not an easy decision regardless.
