I'd actually start to get worried if he didn't A guy like him will have to be highly productive in the pros to be effective since he isn't much of a two-way player or a physical presence. This year he was coming of off hip surgery so I'll cut him some slack, but if he doesn't improve significantly next season, I'd start to get worried. - Nucker101
there are very few players that put up a point per game in the AHL for some reason. |

Wish he would have gotten a look with the big club this year. |

Yeah, PPG is unrealistic. but .75 PPG isn't unrealistic to expect from a 2nd year pro who was selected in the first round to be a point producer. |

I wonder what it would take to get Sam Reinhart now that they have Eichel as well. Only players I won't trade are Horvat and McCann. Those would probably be the players they want though. Oh well. Happy vicky day all. Enjoy the Jays getting crushed again. I'm not a huge baseball fan but man oh man how does John gibbons still have a job lol |

It's because that's the league where they learn how to play defense so the mindset is always defense first. |

Here's my beef. WD enjoyed a good regular season, lots of points. He likes to go with the vets which I understand. I like the faith Bob Hartley had in the kids this year and how he supported them. I just don't see that with WD. - VanHockeyGuy
Keep in mind that Benning has the last say in who stays and who gets sent down…I'm positive they talk a lot about who Willie wants, but at the end of the day he plays who he's given by the GM. |

I still wonder if van didn't select him would he have gone in the first round. I think I only found 6 out of the first 200 that were a ppg. There were some players that were close to a ppg like william nylander. |

I wouldn't go that far. I would say they go there to learn to better 2 way players. |

Cannata as well if a goalie is traded.
DeFazio seems like a guy Benning would like and Conacher seemed to mesh with with the Comets. Cal O'Reilly is the Comets captain and #1LC so he might get a deal as well. i expect 2 out of those 3 to get re-signed. Could see one of Conacher or O'Reilly going to Europe though since neither seems like they will make the NHL and I believe Euro players get paid more than AHL players. |

Reinhart didn't have a strong year I don't think. Nothing wrong with two good centres. Three if you count Hodgson |

Yup . Most of us know this. I also understand our fan base frustration. - VANTEL
If Sven, Clendening and Corrado make the team that's a lot of youth in two years injected into the line-up. Bo, Kenins, Vey, Baertschi, Clendening and Corrado equates to almost a 1/3 if the team.
I too understand the frustration in that I WANT them to get younger, but it's a process that takes time. IMO Benning has done a good job of filling that 20 to 24 year old gap of players that we simply didn't have from the Gillis years. That said, you can only do so much with the hand you're dealt. |

He's too young for that he will be given another go. Its not totally out of the realm of possibilities. |

Yep, that forces Benning's hand to move out the deadwood. As a result if they fail to qualify for post season, I'm ok with that. |
