That was weird, wasn't it? Can't recall ever seeing anything like that before - AllInForFlyers
Who knows what he's doing but I do know he said he'd be consulting his family. So I'd imagine if his wife wants to stay he'll be staying. |

As of right now coaching the Coyotes. Only what Buffalo, NJ, & San Jose jobs open right now. If he's not crazy about any of them he doesn't have to make any move right now. - ob18
As for May 19th 2015, you're right! The Hockey isn't is over yet, the Cup hasn't been handed out. |

What you plan on having for breakfast wasn't the question. My question was very direct. |

The Hawks just don't have the defensive depth to play with them. They have three good defenseman and thats it.
Flyers had the same thing in 2010 with 4 good defenseman. It can only get you so far because the guys get overworked. - PhillySportsGuy
The Hawks third pairing in 2010 was Brent Sopel and combination of Jordan Hendry and Nick Boynton. Absolute monsters. |

Definitely one of the more bizarre things I've seen -- never really felt like the bidding war was ever there |

I'd imagine some teams that have an opening are waiting for those still in the playoffs to be eliminated so they can talk to their assistant coaches. |

I know, I have no idea what will happen.........It doesn't matter to me my team now has a coach.
I'd like to see what he can do, I don't expect any miracles out of the gates but I do hope to see progress. |

It tells me Hexy is all about developing talent from the draft and undrafted free agent pool. There probably are not going to trade a young guy early who hasn't reached his potential because he is taking a little longer to develop.
Outside of that, I want to see who will be Hakstol's staff before I have a feel one way or the other. |

And there is nothing wrong with fellow fans of your team questioning the higher. Even you yourself can't defend the higher if even you yourself do not know what to expect. |

I have no problems with it or the fact he wanted his guy who shared his vision. I was on board the moment I saw them announce it.
I've given up trying to beat myself up over what they do or don't do I have ZERO say in any of it.
I'm just a fan who here & there goes to a game. |

I have no idea, I have no inside information.
He's our coach you will have to at some point come to grips with it and go back to cheering them on once the next season begins. - ob18
Agreed. It doesn't make any difference whether ten teams went after him or one. As you say, he's the coach, and I for one am more than willing to give him the benefit of the doubt heading into next season. I'm hoping he comes in ala Roy and really gets the best from all of his players, and then does the same thing the next year, and the next...
As far as I know, Babcock has coached the same number of Stanley Cup Championship teams as Bylsma and Tortorella. Where are they currently coaching? |

I believe the Hawks forwards were a lot deeper in '10, which took a great deal of pressure off the d core by keeping it in the offensive longer. A younger Hossa and Sharp, Buff, Ladd, Brower, and Bolland. No way this Hawks forward group is nearly as deep.

Even Blashall who not Coaches Grand Rapids was an assistant Coach for the Red Wings about three years ago. He notified the organization that he'd like to be a Head Coach one day, so the Wings gave Blashall a Head Coaching Job in the AHL to work himself up. I'm reserving judgement but Hakstol doesn't have this experience under his belt. He's only ever worked with kids. So I think it's fair the question the higher. |

It's fine to question if that's what some want to do about the move.
It was out of nowhere that goes without saying but it's done & I want to see what he does with what he is given as they continue to make the changes needed going forward.

Don't kid yourself, you hop in your helicopter or use that smoke machine and let Hexy know you want to talk, and it's gonna happen. Then you just kinda work into the conversation you're not all that crazy about Hakstol, real casual, while popping a dumpling in your mouth or something, like it's barely important enough for you to bring up. And the next day - boom - North Dakota Dave is looking for another new job. |

To be honest, I think the people defending the hire with those with questions are more of the problem then anything. I haven't seen anyone really upset with the higher at all. |
