What is the story behind this?
26. After listening to this, I asked Pronger if he ever had an confrontation with either Getzlaf or Perry similar to the legendary one with Claude Giroux? (If you’re not familiar, Paul Holmgren said Pronger threw Giroux against a wall.)
Pronger laughed. “That was blown out of proportion,” he said. It was? “Yes. It was never physical. Just verbal about how to play and lead.” |

Not sure, but I think that Pronger could probably back most players into a wall with his glare, let alone the use of verbal communication. - jmatchett383
i started looking for it. Apparently it happened after a 4-1 victory against Edmonton back in March 2011 where the team coasted through the final two periods.

Berube talked accountability but never came through on it. He didn't bench people who should have been all year. He sits Vinny but plays Rinaldo ? Stupidity. I love the signing, and Hextalls explanation, basically saying, I can care less what whining fans will think. I also loved when Hextall said, might not be exactly what he said but close... " Won't take players long to know who's in charge" That tells me, it's players next on the way out, not the coach |

The "Next Step in Evolution" ad is a problem.
Surfing HB from work is not an issue but having folks in the office see that image, especially from a distance, is totally not cool.

I know right? It catches me off guard all the (frank)ing time. It seems like every ad (at least the ones I see) all seem to be spam/ bug/ scam related.
Scoob... don't you know you can have hockeybuzz ad free for just $19.99 a year?!?!?!? |

I agree. One big issue I had with Berube was the selective accountability. Some guys could make mistake after mistake after mistake and remain in the line up, while others got enough rope to hang 20 guys.
I get that vets will get more leeway than a rookie, which is understandable, but it shouldn't make a guy immune. |

He looked completely average to me.. Was pretty much a non-factor on the ice whenever he was out, and you barely notice he's even there. If Ron basis his decision on honest hockey sense with no conflict of interest, he needs to let his kid move along...
jmo of course... - WarriorHockey21
As far as I can tell out of all the forwards these are the only guys under contract for 15-16, not including Laughton who I think will be on the Flyers.

Cousins
Leier
Straka
Alderson
Martel
Bardreau
Alderson
Mathers
Alderson and Mathers spent as much time in as healthy scratches or in Reading as they did in the Phantoms lineup, but I think Hextall could find himself out of a job if they sign Parks. |

Yes you do. In the case of student athletes I think they deserve the benefit of a phone call at the very least. Just me, but if I were put in that position I would have the courtesy to do what is right. If doing the right thing is a deal breaker, then so be it.
I mean are people so desensitized these days that eventually notifications to next of kin will be made via social media? - PLindbergh31
I'm failing to see the parallel between a college hockey coach quitting his job and someone dying |
