This is exactly what I thought. One would think that if someone offered me more than twice what I make now it shouldn't take more than a half second to either accept or acknowledge that I really don't want to go to the other place. All this stuff about family is scenery. With that kind of silly money he could have his wife commute via helicopter if she didn't want to live here.

I would think having the HarborCenter and the really new locker room/training facilities at the FNC are weighing into the decision as well. There isn't anything even close to that in Detroit right now. If he tells the Pegulas he wants something, he'll most likely get it. It's a pretty sweet deal.

I get what they're saying, but at the same time they are being pretty ignorant about it too. Yes, teams have guys like them, but those teams don't have all of those same type of guys. Maybe 1, maybe 2, but probably not all 3. Then add in Eichel and Reinhart and it's a nice starting point for sure. Just a few tweaks and this team should be much more entertaining.

Not sure Toronto would go for it. They're probably looking to bottom out next year, actually probably better off keeping Kessel

Buffalo got a fairly good return for Myers, and I suspect the Leafs will get a better return for Kessel, so not sure that still leaves them that far behind Buffalo in the rebuild.

well, Buffalo's got an Eichel... Leafs don't. For all that was said about McDavid, many consider him to be a generational talent as well.

Now if the Leafs get some lottery luck next season, all that could change very quickly.

Not sure Toronto would go for it. They're probably looking to bottom out next year, actually probably better off keeping Kessel

Cheaper, younger, shorter term. If they want to move kessel and not keep anything on the books, that's a good starting poin. Would cost the other 1st and a prospect or 2 with ennis.

As many leafs fans pointed out, this was foolish. They absolutely need to finish last for a couple of years.

Also Kessel is only one piece of the tear down that needs to happen. There is Dion and Lupul at least. It takes more than 1 season for that to happen.

Don't see Kessel moving as a must. He's a volume shooter, and still young enough that he could be useful at the end of a rebuild. If the Leafs don't get what they want for him, I doubt they move him.
