On #BabcockWatch, there should be no shame in admitting we're all still, more or less, guessing on outcome, as next 3 tweets illustrate:

1st was the Vogl post, other 2 aren't up yet

Edit 1:

Example No. 2: one of Babcock's NHL coaching colleagues firmly believes he's staying put in DET.

The one thing that leads me to believe that he's going to sign here is that Babcock has been pretty outspoken about the fact that NHL coaches make much less money than the rest of the coaches in professional sports. If he truly believes that, he has the chance to set the trend in Buffalo.

That is a little scary! I hope he is just a colleague and not a close friend....haha!

This whole thing is getting a little ridiculous. I understand weighing your options, but shouldn't we be looking for a coach with a little bit more decisiveness?

I'll be ecstatic if we land him, but this guy needs to write a list of pros/cons of each potential landing spot and be done with it.

I saw something the other day that was a list of the top 10 overrated UFAs this summer. Hammond was at the top of the list.

I just got that notification from the TSN app. I've been checking my phone about the Babcock situation. Twice I've received a notification, once about Boston hiring Sweeney as GM, and once about the Hammond extension. TSN needs to stop that. These things are not important.

No. He's by far the top coaching candidate to become available in a long time. He's earned the right to take as much time as he needs.

I'm absolutely certain they've been talking to plenty of other candidates. If Babcock says no, whatever, on to the next guy. Biggest reason I want him is because of his puck possession game. Sabres need that badly.

I see a lot of similarities between his sudden rise and the one Reimer had a few years ago.

Agreed, I'm sure they anticipated this situation and have someone else lined up.

It's a big decision. I'd be more concerned if he made a rash decision about it. His decision affects more than just himself as well. He has a family to think about. It's not like the team that he's considering going to is going to be a Cup contender next year either. He has the option to stay with a team he's been with 10 years, has been to the playoffs every single year of those 10 years or go to a team that's finished dead last in the league the last 2 years.

That too.

Bill Watters is on the SiriusXM NHL channel often. He adds nothing substantial in terms of insider information is concerned.

All this coach talk, with many available coaches and several teams kicking the tires, and not ONE mention of Teddy Friggin' Nolan? Know why Nolan fans? Because he's a terrible coach, a GM killer, and he'll never be a head coach in the NHL again.
