Eichel is not going to smash anyone down. He's not McDavid. Eichel is a great prospect, but if people are expecting him to come in and score 30 goals a year I think they will be disappointed.

I guess my biggest complaint with that team was just that it didn't seem like it had any sense of urgency, and I think a big part of that comes down from the coach.

That said, he has won a Cup before, so I'm not exactly going to turn my nose up at him either.

Crosby scored 39 goals his first year. I'd be more than ecstatic if Eichel were in the mid-20s range.

I am more realistic then most here, and get criticized for not thinking all our prospects are future HOFers but eichel for sure will be a 30 goal scorer. That is his skill set, it's why he is looked upon as a franchise player. Elite speed, drives to the net, top end shot. The guy is gonna put the puck in the net. a lot.

Bylsma has familiarity with Eichel. He was an assistant under Richards during the World Tournament that just ended.

Toews has scored 30+ goals twice in his career. There's more to it then just that.

Toews is a different player. He's not a "goal scorer" but scores goals just because he is so well rounded and good at hockey if that makes sense. Toews is the premier 2 way center. I think eichel has the higher offensive ceiling with less of the toews clutch factor that make toews so good
