League source tells me #Sabres thought they had deal in principle w/ Babcock 2 days ago around same term/dollars as Leafs. Maybe even 9 yrs.

I don't pretend to know a ton about coaching, but I will say that Dan Bylsma has lost quite a few series where his team has been the odds on favorite.

Bylsma won his cup after Therien was fired. I think he is a very mediocre coach IMO

Whats Killing me is all the trolls on twitter calling out everyone who claimed they had info on this thing. People do the same here. They act like the sources owe them something. That was the info that was available and this thing suddenly took a left turn. By left turn Toronto suddenly agreed to pay him the terms we came up with. The Leafs are our female dog yet again.

There seems to be a double standard here. The general consensus is it does not matter what players do in the Olympics, but for coaches it meas a hell of a lot.

It is either one way or the other. You cant have both here.

We set the terms. Terms that make him the highest paid coach x3 in the league. That would be like you negotiating for a car on the lot at the dealer and me swooping in and taking it from you at 3x's what its value is.

He's overrated as poop. He's an AHL coach that lucked into Crosby/Malkin and a Stanley cup his first year coaching. People put way too much stock in that.

Yup, can't blame people for it, and it seems more credible now with others more publically "in the know" saying such things.

The only times I hate on people with "sources" is when they want the pat on the back and when they throw so much out there over and over, always wrong.
