It's PERSONAL now. Can't move on. Hope his career is forever tarnished. Pegula and Co better pull a rabbit out of a hat and get someone unexpected like Hitchcock or Julien - bluengold12
Personal how? They cant do anything about it. He chose Tor or Buf. Get yourself a coach draft yourself a star center and don't worry about what the rest of the league is doing.
You go out for revenge and you are gona lose sight and drive this rebuild right into a train wreck.

So he did what everyone would do in that situation.
Used teams against each other to drive up the price.
Players do this all the time. Its called Market Value.

I want a proven coach. Someone who has been there before. So kicking tires on guys who may or may not be something is something I do not want at this current time.
Not to mention the harm it could do to this "rebuild" moving forward. A coach in over his head trying to teach and mold young players. That does not sound like a recipe for success. - ImThatGuy
Dineen has been an NHL coach before. Took Florida to the playoffs a few years ago. I personally think he got a raw deal there in general. |

I, myself, also think that he did kind of played with our organization a bit!!!
But, what can you do??
I think he used us to hammer out the best deal with Toronto Maple Laughs!!!
Ohh, well, there is one way we can get even: beat them in regular season, and better yet, knock em out of playoff, in future. |

Sabres livid for way Babcock handled past few days. Sabres so confident he was coming that they were prepared for Monday news conference. - metzeric

I'd rather him than a guy who can't even lead his AHL team to the playoffs - bluengold12
Why, though? It's not like Hitch has done anything recently. |

I had to keep telling my friend this all season. He took the entire McEichel or Bust thing way too seriously. I kept telling him that the Sabres winning or losing games shouldn't have any affect on his every day life. |

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Dineen do that with a pretty young team and some plug-in veterans that they bought like Fleischman, Soupy, couple Blackhawks guys, etc?
A lot like our team honestly.
But then after that one year Dineen really fell off the carriage. Who knows what for but that team didn't have it after that initial year. Maybe it was teams figured them out or what but he fell hard. |

He's still with the Leafs. I believe Buffalo would have to pay draft pick compensation to get him. |

The roster he had that year was certainly underwhelming.

The following year was the lockout shortened season and then he got fired 16 games into the following season. Like I said, I don't know that he really got a fair shake there. |

Again, reports are that the money was the same. Which means he's taking less in Toronto after taxes. He had a talk with Hunter about the Leafs' future, and his role in the organization, and that's what tipped the balance.
I'd understand vilifying him if it was just about the money, but in this case it clearly isn't, or he would have gone back to Buffalo asking for even more. |

Can we all stop with the "Woe is me. Little ol Buffalo gets stepped on" attitude we have going on?
It is annoying. We move on get another coach, and go kick some arse with the roster Murray is going to be putting together.
