Step away from that ledge. No one is saying youre wrong. We're just sharing our opinions here. I disagree with you and im not acting like a total female dog about it.

"Control" is not something coaches worry about. And especially a good coach like Babcock. He will always be able to have a say in player personnel decisions. Any GM would ask Babcock for his input on which players to call up, what kind of players he wants to play for him, etc... Hell, he even had that in Detroit as evidenced by the HBO 24/7 episodes.

He didnt go to Toronto for control.

you are the one that needs to take a step back, i'll go with what I was told over you're opinion.

I don't think the team needs a high profile coach just yet. Babcock was the exception but the team still has a lot of growing to do.
- Sabresfan-365

The only reason I wanted Babcock was his name. He was without question the biggest name on the market, he is arguably the best coach in the NHL, if not the best, very high up there; and if Buffalo got him, people would be paying attnetion.

Buffalo, getting the biggest free agent? That is exactly what people in the hockey world would have been be thinking. It would have raised our reputation, and what others would now expect from the Sabres. Now that he has gone elsewhere, I really couldn't careless who we bring in.

Other than his ties to Murray, Richardson doesn't make a lot of sense to Buffalo. How would they explain away going from courting Babcock to an AHL coach? And an AHL coach with limited success - no playoff series wins and he missed the playoffs this year. You could argue that his
moderate success if roster related but I still think they target an NHL experienced coach. Which one, I have no clue? Maybe Boucher as a dark horse??

- turbo044

I heard Murray wants Richardson on the coaching staff, just not as the head guy. This was mentioned when the name Paul MacLean came up.

Don't you cry boys. Don't you dare cry. You have 1000x the prospects of Toronto. They have 2 decent prospects... A skinny swede and a 5"8 Connor brown.... The rest is history.

You might cry for losing Babcock but remember. He only has one cup with an awesome wings team in 13 seasons. He has gold medals but look at the team canada he had. I could win a gold.

Don't forget your last years coach Ted Nolan took a team of rejects and wannabes and almost beat the almighty Babcock and his almighty Canada team in the Olympics. Only 2-1 man of it wasn't for Price briLliant 3rd period then Canada loses to Ted Nolan.

It cool, theblueandgold is a connoisseur of the AHL, a Sommelier of the red and whites that are developmental hockey. His knowledge spans from coast to coast with unparalleled depth. In two years when Jeff Blashill has 2 cups, we will all bathe in his light with exuberance and tip our collective hats to He.

Ya lindy didn't deserve his Stanley cup win either
- Carubba-Kaleta

No, but Bylsma rode his one cup win for 7 years with disappointing finish after disappointing finish. Lost series that they were favored to win, and made questionable lineup moves.

Like I said before, He and Ruff are similar because they rarely, if ever exceeded expectations.

Well maybe he's learned something from his mistakes. Either way I doubt he will be our coach murrary will most likely hire a Canadian coach.
